Called saying they were renewing my service and had debited my checking account. Explained I did not want the service, and they told me only way to stop was to be transferred to another department. After transferred, person said they would credit the 700 in two payments of 350.00 each. Instead of the payment of 350.00 they credited 3500.00. Explained I understood this was not my money and would go to the back and send them a check. NO, do not do that, they wanted me to purchase gift cards and scratch off the back and scan and email them, so I did and lost all my money. DO NOT EVERY TALK OR LISTEN TO ANY COMPUTER COMPANY THAT OFFERS TO ASSIST YOU. THIS COMPANY DOES NOT WORK FOR MICROSOFT OR ANYONE ELSE. IF THIS HAPPENS TO YOU, GO DIRECTLY TO YOUR BANK AND HAVE THEM HELP YOU.

They called me about a year and a half ago, I signed up when they said my computer would crash. I paid them $300 and never got any tech support or anything from them, I could not get a refund either. Now they are contacting me again and want to refund me money and want my banking information.

Signed up and paid support buddy for help cleaning up my computer. A year later (today) they called me stateing that the business was going out of business and I get to receive a full refund. After 40 min online they got me to my bank account log in page, I did not sign in, he goes on to tell me he is going to crash my computer if I don't enter the information. My computer is now crashed. Hackers AND thieves.

I received pop ups about a year ago regarding the risk of losing my data on my computer. It advised that I not shut my computer down and call the number on the pop ups. I called and allowed access to my computer, and apparently the problem was cleared up...yet with a $299 fee. I now am receiving multiple calls; a year later about the need to refund me the money due to "the government asking the business to refund to their customers, and asking them to close down their US Business." This story changed after a lot of back and forth about my not allowing access to my computer for a refund...which questioned highly. The story became, that they needed to update the software in my computer, then offer a refund (truly questionable). I also asked for written official correspondence on this supposed "Government Mandate," to which to ignore my question, or say that it needed to be done quickly because there was so many customers they were doing this for.

Recd pop up of a computer virus in 2016. SupportBuddy number came up n I called. Was told I had a virus. They remotely accessed my computer n said it was fixed and was charged $149 on my credit card. On 5/23/2017 they called me dating they were offering their customers a refund d because their software wasn't working. Stupid me allowed them access to my computer again n I got on my credit union acct do they could put the money back in. They then say they accidentally put in too much $$. $940 and if I would just send them back the difference then everything would be ok. 2 red flags that I didn't catch, #1 screen went black n I asked y n was told that they were transferring the money fromChase bank. #2 I sent them the difference to a man in PERU!!! Via western union. Checked my email an hour later n my CU, sent an email about a transfer from one acct failed. I never did a transfer! Found out they went in my savings account n transferred my own money to my checking so I sent them my own money! Believe it or not after I called them back they insisted they would send me my $$ back throughout the entire Memorial Day weekend. But they wanted to access my computer again to do it. NOT! Closed my accounts, debit card. Notified Fraud alert n the FTC. 5/31/2017 they called one more time and said if they can't access my computer I won't get my money. I told them to send a check or send via Western Union IF they wanted to make me whole. Told them also that I've put in complaints and was told I could call the FBI if I wanted and they hung up!

On December 29, 2016 I received a fraudulent pop up saying my computer had a virus and Microsoft had to fix it or their network would be compromised. This pop up froze my computer. There was a phone number to call. When I called, it was Support Buddy. They said they were partnered with microsoft. They took remote control of my computer and said they needed to remove malware and other problems because hackers could get see my info. All of my passwords were visible, etc. I complied out of fear and they put a charge of 429.98 on my credit card. However after doing that I researched the company and reviews came up of similar stories to mine saying Support Buddy was a scam that creates pop ups and "fixes" it with free websites. I fear they may have mined my computer for personal information such as my social security card number. I have changed all my passwords. I am disputing the charge with my credit card company.

This organization popped up on a web site, and then the site asked for me to call them to clear up infections and government intrusion problems. They appear to be based in Delhi but gave the Bakersfield, CA address for their US office. That appeared to take of my Macbook and find basic information about its purchase.

Their English was foreign accented but very good. They wanted a 30-day "fixation" fee of $219.99 and a 1 year contract for $349.99.

A pop up window blocked access to my computer and indicated that there was a virus on the PC that was accessing my credit card information. A voice advised if the consumer was shut down the data would be stolen and the only way to secure the information was to call the tech support company at 844 692 6305 for assistance. The company claims to be part of Microsoft. I shut down the PC, ran a virus scan, none found of course. I called the number and asked for the name of the company, it was support buddy.

This is a scam and this type of scare marketing should be illegal and the business shut down. I knew enough to know how to handle the situation, but I saw online many consumers paying fees to this business. Sad.

pop up screen on computer saying must call immediately, DO NOT SHUT DOWN COMPUTER or all data will be lost- saying they were with Microsoft. Remotely fix problem for $159.99. Unfortunately paid them. Afterwards took computer to a reputable computer repair company and had them remove support buddy aps and other viruses.

Received virus alert on my computer then screen with Microsoft logo came up aske me to call 1888 740 8339. Person on phone asked me to grant access to my computer then wanted me to pay almost $300 to fix the problem. They made it seem thst they were calling fron Microsoft and were their support system. I ended the call when they asked for personal information.

My mom got a message on her computer that she needed to call Microsoft support, the phone number was not Microsoft, it was Support Buddy. They misrepresented themselves as Microsoft. She spent 6 hours on the phone with them having direct access to her computer. They then charged her $700 for the fraudulent work. Everywhere online it says that Support Buddy is a hoax. That they pose as Microsoft and then charge large sums of money for "support" that is not needed.

I just got a new acer chromebook and already had an older laptop. I am not a computer genius but am no [censored] either. as soon as i turned on my chromebook it had a message that said it had a virus and call this number immediately to remove. i called and they told me they had to have access to my other computer to fix my chromebook which ii now know isnt true. so 4 hours and 179.00 later everything was "fixed" and all they did to the chromebook was have me press three buttons and it was fixed i later found out that chromebooks dont get viruses so this whole deal was a scam to get access to my other computer and some money out of me. i have gotten a new debit card though because i work hard for my money and their payment is still being processed so good luck getting it out of me go scam somebody else
