First, I received a text message from someone named Sarah Bolton. She offered me the position and stated what I would get paid (27 per hour). She then told me the interview would take place via Microsoft Teams with the hiring manager. She sent me a code and then I started speaking with someone named Debbie White. She then was explaining about the position. I was never asked for personal information that would seem like I was being scammed. She asked me some generic questions about myself and asked about previous jobs I had and the duties I performed. The next day I sent a message back to her asking about my consideration for the job, and she stated that my responses were great and told me I was hired for the position of a Data Entry Analyst. She sent me a contract to sign that I accepted the offer, and asked for my email address so she can send me the money for the stipened to purchase the office equipment, that even the company website shows you will receive. I recieve the email and print the check, Take a picture of it to deposit into my bank account and the next day, when that check cleared ($1,500), I sent the money to a vendor to purchase the equipment. I was then told that there was actually not enough there and they sent me another check for $2000. That check did not clear right away and I contacted my back and was told not to worry. After the weekend, I contacted Tebra, and come to find out, they have nothing on file for me and I was told that the people I was speaking to were not with their company. I immediately call the bank about the $2,000 check to alert them. Today, Tuesday, I see I am now -$1,500 in my account due to the first check being returned. Like people say, if something sounds too good to be true, it most likely is!! :(
