I had a pop up on my computer that said i had many viruses and my computer had been hacked. they proceeded to tell me the cost was $400 they expected me to pay. My sister came over and she called them back at the number they said i needed to contact when they had completed the work on the computer. When my sister called she told them she was not paying any amount and had looked them up on the
BBB web sited and they had 43 complaints listed against them. they proceeded to hang up. these people claim to be from microsoft and are nothing but a scam.

My computer was frozen with a screen blocked with messaging and alerts (in red on white) that I was hacked, along with a loud (female) voice saying not to turn off the computer or I would lose data and to call the phone number at bottom of screen. I felt I had to do that. When I called, the responding person ("Ryan") said he was from Microsoft. I repeatedly asked him (and another male, later) if he were actually from Microsoft and was told "yes." The tech proceeded to take over my computer and remove supposed malware, then said there was a charge of $349 for the service. He wanted my credit card but I wouldn't give the number. He agreed that I could pay by check. (Meanwhile, they tried to upsell me to a larger service costing another $550 which I declined. I felt I had no option when calling the phone number to clear my computer of the loud voice and blocked screen. As I was about to make out a check this morning, I had second thoughts and looked up the company, Devine Mart, to which I was supposed to send the check. I saw on this ScamPulse.com site that Devine Mart was a tech scam. I won't pay.
