Technology One Reports & Reviews (5)

I was contacted by text message by "Mr. Alvin Schubert", a temporary recruiter at TechnologyOne. He was reaching out to me in regards to my resume posted through Indeed.com. It was an online remote work from home position paying $35/hr and $28/hr training for the customer service representative position.

The interview was conducted via Skype IM (Instant Messaging). The Skype contact was "Mr. Kevin ****". After many questions, most seemingly work-related, I was given more information and requirements about the position. I would need a computer, a printer, and multiple software applications. When I asked who was responsible for purchasing said items, they said the company would send me a check to use to purchase the required items from an approved vendor. I was told that I was hired and to check in with Mr. Kevin **** through Skype IM by 8 am the next morning.

I did check in with Mr. Kevin **** and learned that my job offer email and tax paperwork to begin working would be in an email. I did receive the email and the address on the email was the correct address for TechnologyOne out of Australia. The W-4 and I-9 forms looked official and everything. They also wanted a photocopy of my ID (front & back).

I researched the company and on the official website it said: "BEWARE OF RECRUITER FRAUD". I called the Better Business Bureau and my fears were confirmed that it was a scam. No business is going to send someone they don't know a check for new equipment. If the company wants an employee to have new equipment, they will send the employee the equipment that they are to use.

I didn't fill out the W-4 or the I-9 form or submit a copy of my License. I did, however, provide them with my name, address, email, and phone number.

Two days later, I received a check for $3,829.00. I did NOT cash it. I DID take it to my local post office to report it.

I am glad that I wasn't scammed and will be more cautious with employment opportunities from now on.

Best advice, "If it seems too good to be true, it usually is."

This sounds very similar to my situation. The language they used the employment opportunity, everything! They told me to print out the employment offer and send it back signed. They were also using WhatsApp, and the number was coded for New Jersey, not Australia. They had everything down to the detail of impersonating this company. Technology one is the same name they used as well. Going by “Maree Gallagher “.

I had the same hunch so, I started to ask more questions still playing along, and they dismissed them and got a bit defensive, which is not professional conduct at all.

Was approached by a person offering me job with a company based in Australia. Was sent a check that was drawn on a Wells Fargo account by a Abstract and Title Company. I called the company and I wasn't the only person who had called that day about a check but mine was the largest. I was to cash the check and then buy a long list of equipment to do the job via a preferred vendor. I do work remotely and was sent all the equipment I need to perform my job. So I knew this was a scam.

I have applied for a job in tech one, and they send me fake checks to buy gift cards and told me to send them pictures front and back of the cards. And also use money gram to a random person and also put 3000$ in money orders,

Below is the initial message sent to me. The scammer has sent me a check to deposit into my account. Once it clears, I am to contact him and then he will tell me where to go to purchase electronics to complete administrative work he will then send me. I still have the check for $3,720.11. The name on the check is Tarek O Perasud. The address is 4501 old farm circle. Huntsvill, AL 35802. I will not cash or deposit this check it just feels like a set up. Different name on check. Different location on the Fed Ex invoice. Not adding up
