Hi, let me explain why I think this is a scam.

I received a text message on my cell-phone on Saturday 07-23-2016. In the text, they reference my resume that was posted on Monsters.com. They said they had several positions that were available and if I wanted I could schedule an interview. I stated that I would be available on Monday 07/25/2016-8AM. He texted back on Monday and said if I wanted to be included in the interview, to log onto Google Hangouts. I did and he mentioned that several items that the job entailed. He stated that I would be receiving a computer with features on it that I would need to conduct the business transactions with the training that they would conduct in the first week. He also mentioned that some of the software that I needed, that I would have to purchase and they would send me a check to cover the expenses of the software. At which point I stated to him, if they were sending me a computer, then why go thru all the hassle with me purchasing the software, that they could just purchase the software and send it with the computer. Saves time and effort and not to mention having someone else dealing with the added expenses of the software. He stated that it was against corporate policy to conduct the business like that. That they would send me a check and give me businesses to contact to purchase the software. I told him that I was not comfortable doing business like this and if he could answer 3 questions that I had, that I would give him my undivided attention. The questions that I had: was there any job postings for this position or positions?, why was there no corporate information such as phone numbers besides the website available? and When was I to get the information about where to purchase the software or was the moneys that were to be sent to me, was it suppose to be paid back? If he could offer answers to those questions I would continue forward. He did not. I told him that I could not continue with this position and I wished him the best in finding someone qualified. Today, July 27, 2016, I received a check for $6,500. It was a cashiers check issued from APCU Credit Union. The only thing on this check that stood out was some lady's name (Carolyn S. Cain). I called the Credit Union in GA., and they gave me the email address [email protected] to give them a copy of the check. The clerk could not find the number from the check in her system. That was at 1.pm today., I have not heard from them yet. I also contacted my local Police Department (they will call me back in the Morning). I believe that if the check is good, the funds are from that lady's account without her knowing. I don't want to cash it and then finding out that it is a scam. Please review and let me know if you have any other items similar to this.

Thanks, Michael
