The sales call implied "AT&T Planum Savings" and I was quoted a price less than AT&T for my land-line phone of $47 plus taxes/fees if I switched and later quoted $40 by the next person on the line. That should have been a clue. They followed up with a letter stating the same $47 plus taxes/fees. OK, now it's in writing. However, when the billing came...The add-ons (not ordered nor quoted in the T/C nor the confirmation) were nearly as much as the entire quote I was told. I called customer service but the person didn't give me his name and then told me I was told the fees according to his transcript which I did not, and then I was told the "normal fee" would be about double... then he told me my number would be discarded if I were to cancel service before he hung up.

claimed to be sister company to at&t and have better rates - the rates are 3x higher.

Telplex contacted secretary claiming to be AT&T and to let them make sure we did not have to have our rates raised. When they called back to confirm, I told them NO we did not want their service and that NOT to disconnect us from AT&T. However they proceeded and had our AT&T account disconnected. I have now had to spend over an hour on the phone with AT&T setting up a new account at a higher rate than we had previously.

Called me and said that AT&T was working with them. They were going to be my new voicemail carrier. I told them I did not want to change carriers so they assured I was not. I just received a bill from them. I called AT&T and sure enough they switched my service to them. I am now in the process of going back to AT&T.

In April I received a phone call to my business from a company claiming to represent my phone carrier AT&T. They offered to reduce my bill from the $199 and tax I pay currently down to $150.50 monthly. I was told nothing about my service would change but that I would not have anymore long distance invoices and I would still be receiving services from AT&T. Near the end of the call I was asked to record my acceptance to the changes being made through a recording on an IVR system. Not too long after this conversation I received another call from someone representing AT&T. At this point I became suspicious and called AT&T directly only to find out I had been scammed and all my lines had been switched over to Telplex. I received a bill for the Telplex service that totaled nearly $700. I have since switched my services back to AT&T but I want to help others avoid this experience. AT&T says this happens a lot and that they do not call to solicit anything by phone.

A hourly employee took a call from them and they claimed to be CenturyLink. Stated that they would lower our business phone rates and asked if the employee would like to see lower rates. Although he had no authority, all he said was "yes", and they went and ported our two voice lines from CenturyLink. It has taken me almost a month to get it ported back to CenturyLink. This is fraud!

We received multiple phone calls, badgering, they must have called 15-20 times, at least 3 times a day telling us that we were overpaying for our long distance phone calls and they needed us to switch to reduce the rate. They claimed they were with AT&T, but they weren't. They also quoted a low rate, but once the bill was received it was over triple the amount quoted. They also said we would not receive a separate bill for long distance from them, but it was a separate distinct bill from our AT&T service. When we contacted Telplex to cancel our service, we told them we're not paying. This is a SCAM. DO NOT switch to anything from Telplex. Total scam. Tell them to take you off their phone list immediately and to STOP calling you if you start receiving their badgering calls.

Company called my place of business in Missouri spoke to an employee, not anyone in the corporate office or a business owner and got so called "approval" to take over our phone lines from AT&T and within a month I received a bill from this company for some $2100 phone bill. beware they are a scam to take your phone line from the company you are currently with and bill you an outrageous amount we lost our phone number we had for 30 plus years. Beware Beware Beware just say NO.

At approximately 10:15am. A gentleman by the name of Jack White called on the behalf of "AT&T" seeking to speak with the owner of the business (in this case it is my mother's business). I took hold of the call as she was busy with important business matters. He claimed that due to a federal de-regulation that the rates would be lowered to $43 and stated in verbatim "never see a higher bill". In the process he claimed that his company (Telplex) was working in conjunction to lower the business bill. He then made me wait, and promptly had a woman on the line with him that appeared to be making adjustments of some sort. The woman then spoke to me and asked if I was aware the Telplex is a competitor of AT&T.

That statement appeared to be contrary of Mr. White's claim of working alongside AT&T. It was at that moment I decided to provide no further information, and hung up.

Telplex communications was able to take over my phone service, with out my authorization or staffs authorization. I don't know how this is legal. I am extremley befuddled, and disgusted this was even possible.
