Telplex Reports & Reviews (9)

They called here stressing that they were ATT Platinum and they were wanting to inform us that ATT technicians would be arriving to upgrade our system to no longer use landlines, except as a backup, and it was going to lower my costs. What infuriates me is that I kept asking if they worked for ATT and they deftly led me to believe that they were working on behalf of ATT because ATT was too busy to schedule all these upgrades themselves. The Telplex person transferred me to an "ATT agent" since i was suspicious. The agent told me my billing account number as proof they were legit. He explained that ATT was ending landline service and that was starting with business customers. He guided me to a site, https://www.upgrademybiz.net/, and pointed out that it showed the ATT logo at the upper right and then smoothly moved me through seeing the benefits of the new service and guided me to clicking on the "Add This Plan" button. A balked there, saying I wanted to look into it more, and he let me go. What is really angering is that he was so smooth that I I apologized for my suspicions because we get calls to switch service all the time and sometimes they are very stealthy in how they present themselves, and the agent "graciously" accepted the apology.

This company is a huge scam. They claim to be partnering with AT&T but in actuality it's the complete opposite. from the reports that iv'e read it seems to me they get your number from any kind of dispute you may have made with AT&T. What we discussed paying is not what was sent on the invoice. When i called and tried to explain the situation to the lady who answered the phone, i'm pretty sure she was the same one who called initially that was so sweet and nice, was really rude and inconsiderate. If this company calls request to be taken off of their list, even though it seems to me that they will still call anyways.

Telplex called and said they are employed by AT&T, and that they are taking over the long distance plans from AT&T. First of all she didn't know the name of our company or how many phone lines we have. When I told her Telplex had contacted me previously and I called AT&T about them changing my long distance service, which isn't true, she got very nasty and rude with me. She said let me tell you something....AT&T only told you that because they don't want to lose your business.

AT&T is not selling long distance to Telplex!! Do not fall for their scam!

I was contacted by a person who stated that they were a representative from Century link (my current phone service provider for business Kasey R. Coulson Family and Cosmetic Dentistry PLLC) they stated that due to federal regulations they were required to offer me a service at a much lower cost through a billing company called Telplex. They told me that my fees would be around $169/month compared to my normal bills of around $280/month. They sent me to a manager supposedly still working for Telplex who indicated that I would receive a call from their other office to confirm the change and to just answer yes to the questions that indicate I wish to change to Telplex. Due to my conversation, I did receive the call and answered yes to their questions. After the weekend, I contacted my personal rep with Century link who indicated that it was fraudulent. My rep at Century link Shane Scott indicated that he would take care of changing my account back. I received a bill in the mail from telplex, called them and they indicated that they have never received a notice to cancel and switch my account back to Century link. Shane Scott from Century link (my rep) assures me that they are incorrect and that I probably should not pay this bill.

Company representatives claim to be calling from AT&T. They say that due to deregulation, your phone bill will automatically be reduced next month. The only difference is that now your bills will say Telplex instead of AT&T. When I called AT&T to confirm this information, they informed me that Telplex is in no way associated with AT&T.

Salesman called and said he's from AT&T and wanted me to separate my long distance billing so I could save money. I told him that I did not want a separate bill and that I wanted to stay with AT&t. The salesman called back and talked with another employee and used my name to get the other employee to authorize the switch. I found out about it 2 days later and called Telplex and talked someone who was very rude and I asked for them to cancel the long distance and switch back to AT&T. After about a month I received a bill that indicated that the service was not cancelled and I called again to cancel. I talked with a guy who was a lot less rude and did not understand why it was not cancelled before. He said to call back when I get my final bill to get it credited. I received the final bill and after talking with 3 different people got someone who said the bill was legit and it was going to collections.

I own 4 Papa Murphy's Take & Bake Pizza stores and received a bill from Telplex for my long distance phone service. On calling the company, I was told that my current phone carrier had dropped their long distance service and Telplex was picking it up. I paid the December bill ($70.36) before calling CenturyLink to confirm. I was told by CenturyLink that it was, indeed, a scam and my service had never ended. This was confirmed by the CenturyLink bill. I received a January bill from Telplex and called the customer service number to complain and reporting them to the BBB. The response from the agent was to get off the phone ASAP.

The operator that called stated she was with AT&T and that AT&T had a deal with them to handle all of the long distance for small companies for them because they couldn't offer the better pricing and were loosing too many customers. She said a letter was sent and that since we had not responded this needed to be verified over the phone as the change took effect at the end of the month. When repeatedly asked if she was with AT&T she confirmed that she was. She also stated that she would resend the letter that was originally sent since we didn't have it and I wanted a copy for my records. I later called AT&T and was told they knew nothing about it.

I received a phone call from a telemarketer from Telplex Communication. I told her we were not interested in switching services, she hung up. then called back stated she looked through the account and she thought we could benefit from switching. I told her again we were not interested we already tried this company and were not happy with it. She again called back stated we have never used their service. all in all she repeatedly called basically harassed the staff and I until I would listen to what she had to offer. I finally agreed to listen, she stated we would get 900 minutes for all five phone line free long distance for 12.95 and .04 cents per minute after if we went over the 900 minutes. she also stated we shouldn't go over because we average 400 minutes of long distance a month for all five lines. She transferred me to a different operator for confirmation. She confirmed what the lady had told me but never mentioned the 900 free minutes.I didn't think of anything at the time until I received a phone bill for $639.15. I call the telephone company they were so rude stated you confirmed I tried explaining the situation. the representative would only tell me you confirmed I have you on recording I told her what the telemarketer told me she stated that's not what you confirmed. I got no where with the company every costomer service representative I spoke to was rude and would only state that you made the confirmation. nothing we can do about it, or they would tell me what do you want we do not provide free service but they would not even listen to the situation. I asked them if they had all calls recorded so they can see what she told me they stated they only record the confirmation calls.
