The Wolf Den Custom Tattoo Studio & Gallery Reports & Reviews (1)

I think this shop is taking advantage of its clientele that looks like they don't know as much about the tattoo industry and overcharging them. My cousin and I went here to get a memorial tattoo for our grandma. I won't lie. We don't have many tattoos done professionally. Most of ours were done by our friends, so I see how we look like easy targets. Except, I have friends who have many tattoos and know the industry really well, and they were the ones who told me to report them. I paid $150 an hour for an apprentice who started in May 2022. My friend's veteran artists charge $20-50 less than that. Still, I believe people should be paid for their skills and art, so I was like whatever I can deal. My tattoo is smaller than my pinky, and they tried to charge me $300 for it and everyone I talked to said it shouldn't have been more than $100. Obviously, I fought the charge. They called and made a litany of excuses for the artist and were like reviews really affect people's livelihoods in hopes of appealing to my compassion. Since I work a job that also relies on reviews I was sympathetic and took down the review on the phone call. Honestly, the whole phone call was fishy. After following up 3 times, they ended up sending us back just a little more than what we tipped the artist and broke down the charge. So they charged me for 1 hour and fifteen and my cousin for 1 hour and 30 which is weird because that adds up to 2 hours and 45 minutes. Weird, considering we got there at 11:30am, waited about 30 minutes for the artist, and paid her at 2pm. So I'm really curious where they got that extra 15 minutes, but they said they checked the cameras. I also think they're scamming their customers by posing as a hacker who hacked their original Instagram and is messaging followers, booking appointments, taking down deposits, and claiming it was a hacker who's scamming clients. Harder to accuse people of being scammers when they're getting scammed, right? Except they're not getting scammed. They're just turning people away who are expecting to have an appointment. I don't trust the business owners or the artists because of this. It's clear to me that they're trying to take advantage of being a safe space for women and the LGBTQ+ community and their clients.
