The Women's Image Network/Women's Image Awards/ Light Productions Inc. (EIN: 95-4363001) isn't registered as either a non-profit nor as a corporation. I and two others worked for this organization and have not received payment after 6 months. We're now in small claims court, where the owner has refused to be served via the Sheriff.

The founder, Phyllis Stuart, was unprofessional: yelled at staff and talent, sneered at disabled staff, demanded unrealistic 24 hour work. And although staff were verbally abused and required to work long hours (documenting them) she refuses to acknowledge staff hours and pay them.

I was contacted in Oct 2022 by 'Leslie Campbell' claiming to know my former employer, about a potential editorial project for hire. After I responded, the contact was Phyllis Stuart. She hired me to create several videos and a keynote presentation for her WIN Awards on Nov 10th. She was very persistent, talking for long periods of time on the phone and always rushing - she would talk about unrelated things such as her acting career and complaints about other people who are not giving her the work she wants done for her awards show. Her venue had fallen through and several honorees had canceled their appearance on her show. After I submitted the final files and requested time to discuss a renegotiated rate, she stopped responding. 5 days later, via text, she agreed to a renegotiated rate and I sent over an invoice. After two weeks, I reminded her that the invoice was due and that I have a $30 per day after 30 days late fee. She replied 'Right' and then cursed at me. After 30 days, she refused to answer any text messages about payment or give me any details on how she would pay (Zelle, Paypal etc). I believe she blocked me. I called her from a burner phone number and she claimed not to know me, as well as that she is 'working on a different show' and should call the 'billing department' of WIN. I contacted two other people that worked with me and found out that they were never paid for their work either. They also have been ghosted about payment - a total of 5 people with payments owed roughly around $4,000-5,000. I realized that when I started working for her, I took over another editor's job - which made me understand that Phyllis Stuart is a scam artist. I believe she skipped payment on the previous editor as well. Kyiana Williams, one of the contacts, informed that she emailed the board members listed on teh WIN website and has not received a response. It seems that the only person working at this 'non-profit' is Phyllis Stuart. From what I gather from her website, this appears to be a fake charity and the donations received during this charity gala (Win Awards) are likely going to Phyllis directly. I believe this is just the surface. Kyiana Williams contacted Brad Hall of EntertainmentCareers and he has banned her from posting on the website. I want to make sure that nobody else is scammed by Phyllis Stuart's fraudelent non profit. 3 of us are currently engaged in a small claims lawsuit against Phyllis Stuart. I was told by my legal counsel that I cannot post about this publicly but I can reach out other to agencies that can conduct their own investigations while I wait for a verdict.
