I was able to tell that it was a scam before it asked for my Information. 1) I never applied to this company 2) they were offering a high hourly rate of 40$ an hr and working remotely. 3) the interview being conducted, was unannounced, and via chat on zoom.

4) this persons grammar was not good

I was contacted via text message and the individual let me know that they were from Thritymadison, they asked a couple of questions and told me that they conduct chat-only interviews via Skype or Zoom (red flag). I accepted the Skype invite and there were some basic interview questions spot on with the ones prev. posted. They asked me who I bank with and who my phone carrier was and I am not new to this so I fabricated both responses. No legitimate job would EVER ask you that. EVER!

I blocked the person on Skype and texted the number to let them know they were full of Sugar Honey Ice Tea. Please do not fall for this. Never cash a check from a random job. Always google the job if it doesn't feel right. These scammers are next level these days!

It’s obvious it’s a scam. How can ANYONE fall for this? Their English isn’t even right. Get with it GenZ’s. What company wants your account information and to cash a check? I just played with them to waste their time. Omg oldest scam on the internet. Maybe you should be scammed if you’re that ignorant. Lmao. If you’re THAT smart and they kept you going on a text you deserve to get scammed. [censored].

Why are they allowed to get away with this?

This was my experience today along with four hours of my time.
I have attached all correspondence of my so called interview for a work at home position Customer Service/Data Entry.
I am so disappointed in myself that I almost fell for this. I am usually much smarter & wiser.

I was sent a check from a shipping company. Same mo as all you guys.

They almost got me.
If it sounds too good to be true it is.....

Lesson learned... if something appears to good to be true... it usually is! Luckily, I found this review page and was able to stop it after the 2nd encounter with them! However, I did give them my name, address and bank name only. They do NOT have my account number. Should I be concerned that they have my name, address and where I bank? Wondering if I should notify my bank... Thanks to everyone for all your feedback!

I received a text saying my resume was forwarded to the hiring department from my states employment website. He offered me a variety of jobs and asked which I was interested in. He said it was a remote position for $40/ HR with full benefits. It sounded too good to be true so I researched the company. I could not find any business listing to match the address or name in NY. I did find scam reports with pictures of the text with the exact same wording.

I had deposited the check and was waiting on it. Nobody told me anything, I’m 20 years old and I’m trying to sort it with the bank right now. I’m so scared and I don’t know if I can cancel the check or anything.
I’m in the middle of it and I don’t know what to do.

Something needs to be done about these people and the different outlets that they are able to market on and the agencies allowing solicitations on their platform. These are just a few ways they try, look out for typos for sure, but even with the offer letter missing letters, a real company won’t do. They really didn’t do to bad until after the first initial line of questions, getting to the fishing questions about bank account, salary, rent or own, but then switched back to “the job” sucks for people really looking for one. Look for addresses off from real company. There should always be a number of contact, not just email. Zoom was used in this case with no camera which I preferred as well. Learned lesson: if they are not tying to see who they are hiring and trusting with their “supplies” 9 times out of 10 it’s probably not legit. I’d want to see who’s supplies I’m receiving.

I almost was scammed too, and they did send me a check to deposit in my bank account so when I went to the bank they told me if I had deposited the check, my bank would have closed my account, Thirty Madison Inc. would have stole my information and I would have probably been in legal trouble for depositing a bogus check. I should be grateful that the clerk at the bank was very understanding of my situation and she told me what to look for in the pages of the fraudulent companies.

Did they ever send you a check?

Hi, I think I am being scammed was well. Can you show the full email address used in zoom?
Mine was using @thirtymadisons.com.
I have similar zoom interview questions except for the questions for rent/mortgage and annual earnings.

I had received this message ……Greetings, I am Mr Patrick Maxwell from (Thirty Madison Inc), your resume was forwarded to our hiring unit from (NMWORKFORCE) I'm contacting you for the Customer Service, Admin Assistant, Data Entry, Account Clerk and Payroll Clerk Job. Reply (YES I AM) if interested for more details. Thank You. And I thought it was legit because he said he received my resume through the workforce so I did the interview process and was told I got the job but something seemed off to me and I started looking up the company they have no contract information on the webpage I looked you the address I was given for the company and it was restaurant so I called him out on it and asked if it was a scam he told me no it wasn’t so I said I was just curious because I looked up on the bbb and found this same companies name on there with the similar conversation we’ve had and he didn’t respond but quickly deleted our whole conversation so please be careful out there and always do your research before giving out you information to these people.

These companies find information about employees through job search engines and contact them directly through text messaging. They then ask to send an invite via the Zoom application and have an identical interview process with copy pasted questions that require direct "yes" or "okay" responses in a rushed manner. The hiring individual's name is generic and the email associated with the individual ends with "gmail.com and "poker.cc", which are not legitimate work email domains. They don't have any address info or company contact information displayed on their webpages. They ask which bank you use, prior to offering the position.

When you call them out on their illegitimate activity and tell them they will be reported they use threatening phrases such as "Go ahead and see what you get from doing this" and sarcastic remarks such as "maybe you can get some reward then". The entire interview process includes typos and delayed responses even though they claim it is a 40 minute process.
