We got a letter in the mail from Travel & Adventure from Jeremy Jones inviting us to attend the showcase at the Hyatt Place in Miramar Beach, Florida. Being newly retired, we decided to attend just to see what it was all about. The letter promised that you would receive 2 round trip airline ticket vouchers departing from most major international airports plus 2 nights at one of over 1000 Marriott, Hilton or Hyatt and a bonus $100 dinner voucher good at over 45,000 resturants.

We went and listened to their pitch. Then we were hit with the price tag of $10,000 to join and annual fee of $399. It was shocking. We live in a resort town. It is so hard to want to leave the place with most beautiful beaches. We love our home. But since we don't travel much as most retirees (trip ever 3 to 5 years), it would take us over a decade to get our money back in savings. So as you guess, we said no but then they ask if they could cut the initial fees by 50% we we consider? Again, we told then we aren't ready to travel that much at this time. So we were told that they would start our exit and get our vouchers ready. Now l, this is where it gets good. I had to check myself since we were in public. The next guy who was the manager of the sales reps was a total jerk. He started his exit interview and asked us why we didn't buy in. We told him that it was way too much and we don't travel that much since we are new retirees. Because we didn't answer his questions the way he wanted us to, he couldn't leave into his next question and it furiated him. He got loud and ask us why did we even come here today. We reapplied because you sent a letter inviting us. We came because you invited us to come see and we did. He then made the comment I bet you went to the Hilton too! Well, that sort of stun us because we didn't even know about the Hilton. Finally, we got our instruction how to apply for vouchers.

The food voucher is not $100, its 4 $25 vouchers after you pay $10 to a website to join. In our area, there are a total of 4 restruant which 1 is closed now.

Our airport (VPS) is small and the nearest international airports is over an hour away in Panama City or Pensacola. And on top of that the airline ticket are limited to where you are able to fly to. We haven't done the cost yet on the airline tickets or the hotel.

I don't see that $100 dinner voucher is the same as 4 $25 vouchers and where are the 45,000 resturants. The company advertised they are 100% in good standing with BBB.
