On 5/3/23 at 11:23pm PST I purchased 2 airline tickets through Travelfro in the amount of $633, booking reference number/Agency Confirmation # 6E532A. These were round-trip adult tickets from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to Indianapolis International Airport, leaving 6/1/23 on Alaska flight AS488 and returning 6/4/23 on American Airlines flight AA7624. Only after providing the $633 payment does the company website mention "Fares are not guaranteed until ticketed. In the rare event fares increase, you may opt to cancel your booking by contacting our customer support help desk." I was called the next morning 5/4/23 by Ms. Olivia Gomez at Travelfro notifying me that the promotional fare for these flights no longer exists because "the economy seats are full" and asking me to pay over $530 more for main cabin seats. At the time of our call I was able to identify open economy seats available directly through Alaska Airlines and American Airlines for both of the roundtrip flights. Ms. Gomez refused to provide her employee identification number. I asked to speak with her supervisor, Mr. Jason Harlow, who refused to talk to me and the call abruptly ended on 3 consecutive attempts to speak with a representative of Travelfro. I received permission from Ms. Gomez to record the call, and have a recorded transcript file of our conversation; however, Mr. Harlow seemed upset that I had been given this permission just prior to my call being transferred to him, and expressed this just before the call abruptly ended for the third time. I would like to opt to cancel my booking with full refund but do not know how as I keep getting hung up on. Furthermore, after searching for other customer feedback online, it does not seem that the fare increase is rare at all, as purported by the company. Most reviewers report the same customer experience. I believe this company operates a phishing scheme and should be further looked into so that it does not continue to scam other people.

Airfarewatchdog.com had a link to this website. I booked a flight at a discounted price. I received an email stating that my reservation was not confirmed and that I would be receiving contact for an e-ticket. I spoke to a sales agent on the phone and was told that the cheapest flight was several hundred dollars more than what I originally booked. After MUCH haggling, I was told that my reservation had been cancelled. When I asked for an email, I was told that I would have to pay a cancellation fee in order to receive a reference number, cancellation number, or immediate email. I was told that I would have to wait 24 hours for an email confirmation of my cancellation. This is false advertisement!!!!
