Tristar Processing - Imposter Reports & Reviews (1)

- Buffalo, NY, USA

I received a voicemail from this company about having documents for me and that I needed to contact, basically what I thought was a debt collector. I called 1-855-203-7091. They also use 1-855-201-9172. A woman answered was rude when I started to tell her I took care of this. I asked her where I was calling and she said Tristar Processing. She wouldn't even let me speak as she was saying I owed money to HSBC card services. I called back to speak with someone else as the woman was volatile. I spoke with another woman was advised I owe money to HSBC card services which I advised that I had previously paid, which the call came in the same fashion last year, but a different company name. She then advised that this was for HSBC Card Services, but that it was actually a Capital One card and literally said everyone has a Capital One card. I cannot find any information on this company online. They do not provide a company address. They cannot give you any real details. Also, they never sent me a notice via mail. I called HSBC Card Services only to find out it was bought by Capital One, but Capital One confirmed that I paid them in 2012. Sadly, I have paid this twice( once last June) and now out of sheer fear of going to court. I got a payment authorization form with the creditor as HSBC Card Services. Sent it back back as she explained that Capital One is under the HSBC Card Services umbrella I get a paid in full letter several days letter emailed only with the creditor now listed as First Caribbean Bank. I have never had an account with First Carribean. I even called to be sure someone else did not use my info. I brought this up to their attention that nothing they say and what they have given me matches. They were of no help in telling me any real details and basically said that I should call etc. and call them back and we can discuss me getting a refund and then going to court. This is already after I have paid. I called all parties mentioned and no one shows me owning any money. I am starting to believe that don't believe I owed this money. I hope that this wasn't a scam or if this is some huge mix up, but I don't feel good about any of it. Also, the letter head says "National" and a different phone number. There is no address info and it doesn't match what the name of the company is or what I thought it is. If this post can help even one person, then it was worth it.
