Troops Care Reports & Reviews (1)

I was contacted on Instagram by someone claiming to be a deployed U.S. Army Soldier. At first he seemed like he was bored and just wanted someone to talk to during his off time. He claimed to be an only child whose parents died in a car accident. Then, he said his wife died of cancer and he was raising his young daughter alone. Shortly after we started talking he told me that he was having trouble accessing his bank account and needed a $25 gift card from itunes so that he could update his banking app. I didn't send him any money or buy him anything. I am prior military myself and told him to contact his command and that they would help him gain access to his bank account. He then told me that he loved me and wanted me to be a mother to his daughter. We had only been chatting online for 3 weeks at this point. I told him that wasn't going to happen but we could still be friends. Lastly, he just sent me a link to this website to send him care packages. He even gave me his personal soldier ID to prove that it's him and he's a real soldier, however, the bio has someone else's picture. It also has several misspelled words and some of the sentence structures aren't correct. I tried to click on the 'contact us' link but it doesn't work. I do not believe this is a real website but it is asking for money for care packages to send to deployed soldiers and the amounts are from $500 to thousands.
