On 9/9/23 My Mother, Carole James was solicited on FACEBOOK by The Upright Cane Company. My Mother is handicapped, and received targeted ads for the Upright Cane Mobility Scooter. She called 888-705-6914 and placed an order for one (1) Upright Mobility Scooter, using her Capital One Credit Card. Order # 12135. On 9/16/23 my mother received an Upright Cane, valued at $39.95 via USPS. A photo of the cane and the shipping label, noted LIGHTWEIGHT, are attached. We have contacted the vendor numerous times most recently on 11/3/23, holding for upwards of 90 minutes before being disconnected. We cannot reach a live person or a resolution. To date my Mother has not received the Upright Mobility Scooter she purchased.

On 9/16/23 my Mother initiated a dispute with Capital One CC, and the charge was initially reversed. Capital One contacted the Vendor who claimed the scooter was shipped and provided the tracking information from the cane. USPS Tracking Number 9248 7902 3360 6284 0007 7221 04. he charge was then put back on my parents bill.

My parents are both in their 80's. They are on a fixed income and my mom is handicapped. They are the victims of a bait and switch scam. This company has stolen close to $600.00 from my family and many hours of pain and inconvenience we will never get back.

Placed ord online on July 9 2023 for an upright walker for 179.95 & put on CC with 2-3 day shipping supposedly from FL, received a cane on July 19 2023, not ordered & when called them was told it came free with order. I was told on July 20 2023 when I contacted them via phone & email was told walker would be shipped & received by July 31 2023. I also contacted my credit card company at that point & filed a report. Sept 8 vendor told credit card company I receioved the walker on July 19, it was the cane. CC company was then charging me again. I was told I needed to return the cane, which is fine as I don't need it, I than requested a return tag to return cane. Multiple notifications over multiple weeks they claim they are looking into it. One email messages actually asked me not to do a chargeback. It's now Sept 26 2023 no updates, no return tag, I now told them to cancel order no longer needed & received the usual reply looking into it send order number which was on all of my emails. You can no longer get anyone on the phone. Although they claim they make & ship from FL the cane was actually shipped from China. Unless this gets cleaared up my CC company will put this charge back on my card. They need to CANCEL my order 8887.

Has happened to at least one other person as on social media they talked of paying for an upright walker & receiving a free cane & out the money.
