US Treasury Office Reports & Reviews (3)

On Sept 28, 2016 during mid day hours a message was left on my home phone answering machine by an individual by the name of *** *** from the US Treasury Office. It claimed it was a first attempt. In order to avoid an appearance in front of a magistrate or grand jury I needed to call ***. This man had a heavy accent and used no name of who the message was for. I believe it to be a scam and am reporting it.

David Gray saying I owe back taxes. phone number they called me on was 302-394-0059. Said I had to stay on the phone while he persuaded me to drive to my bank and ask to get $5124 out in cash. He said to not say anything to the banker why I needed this money, and to in fact lie and say it was an emergency, I had to have him on speaker the whole time. I wrote on a piece of paper to my bank teller that I needed to talk to her in a private room and they identified for me that it was a scam. I hung up the phone and he repeatedly called me 30 times in a row. He said I would get arrested in 45 minutes if I hung up the phone and be in jail for 5 years, have my banks frozen, credit cards frozen. When I said this sounds like scam, they said, "wouldn't I be asking for your bank account info if this was scam? They wanted me to go to a walmart and send money with underground source and get a receipt to send to the government showing I paid taxes. They said they would get HRblock to reimburse me the 5000 in 2 days. Woman said her name was Sharron Smith to sound official when I questioned her about this being a scam and gave a case id number of CP916255
