This number appeared as a (210) area code, which I know to be associated with USAA. I answered and the man on the line was professional and gave all the necessary greetings and statements, like when you talk to USAA. He said there were charges on my card that they had caught and declined and just needed to confirm some information. I didn't see anything suspicious on my pending transactions, so I was relieved and then he started asking for my address to confirm where to send my new card. I fell for it and as he placed me on hold the call dropped. I called USAA customer support (from the back of my debit card) and was able to resolve the issue. But these scammers attempted to transfer money from a linked account and send money via Apple Pay.
