I have been contacted at least seven times by the number listed previously with the following message:

"Please contact MRS BPO, LLC at (866) 246-0218 regarding a matter for Verizon Wireless. MRS is a collection agency. If you want to opt out of future messages reply with STOP. Visit us at https://portal.mrsbpo.com. To see important rights and information, click mrsbpo.com/state-disclosures"

I have not clicked any of the links provided, have not replied to the messages, and have not called the telephone number listed. It seems clear that this is a scam. I just want the messages to stop and to alert anyone else who may be targeted by this scam.

They were trying to get information about me

- Omaha, NE, USA

The caller inquired about a recent phone purchase made on my verizon account. He said he was confirming the purchase of 2 iphones for a Robert Miller. I advised that i have not made any orders and that i do not know anyone by that name and immediately disconnected the call. I logged into the app and did not find evidence of a recent order. So, i contacted Verizon and spoke with a representative who confirmed that i did not have pending orders on my account. I wanted to report this incident in case any investigation can be conducted to prevent someone else from disclosing information that could compromise their identity. Thanks

I was contacted by verizon Fraud department. They said someone has used my Verizon account to order 2 new Iphones. They are aware of it and working on the issue. I was to wait for their next call.

I contacted Verizon and they confirmed this theft and using my account. the next day 2 phones were delivered, They called me to verfiy and that I was to give them to the person coming to pick them up.

I again called Verizon and was assured this is OK. I got a receipt from the FEDX man with Verizon information and scan code. I again called Verizon and was assured this is all OK...2 days later I contact Verizon, they seem aware I called buy unsure of phone purchase. the end. they caller was scam, and they intercepted my phone calls to verizon. When I called Verizon to make sure my payments were going to be the same that I did not purchase these phones. They than sent my case to fraud dept. My Feb payment was than $1200 plus for all the things that went with 2 phones and service. I'm working with them to get that off my bill. Slow process.

I received a phishing text claiming to be from Verizon stating that I qualified for their loyalty reward program and a 50% reduction on my next bill.

- Roanoke, VA, USA

Received a call from a woman representing a company called Planet or planter that was taking over Verizon. Wanted to get my Verizon account information and my banking information.

Received a phone call from a Lesa Breding and when answered it has a recording that it was Verizon wireless saying my account had been compromised- press 1 etc. Obviously not a verizon representative.

notification said to call Verizon at that number when I called they claimed to be with Verizon and said that there were some fraudulent activity on my account and that someone had charged $199 he then asked me to get on my computer and check the bank account, it showed 2 different charges for $199 and he said so you have been hacked for $400 then he said he would block the bank account and when you get on it will be black until this is cleared up and the screen was black

A person representing Verizon discussed getting us set up for 5G internet. She took personal info to do a credit check and set up an appointment to have a technician come out to check for a signal at our location. Verizon has no record of this appointment or even service here. Her phone number seems to be erroneous. The individual had on Verizon insignia and documentation. All effort to find anyone connected to Horizon who is aware of this program was of no avail.

Phone call to my cell phone. When answered, I was notified by an electronic voice that my Verizon account was suspended. I was given options to press in order to un-suspend my account. When I pushed option #2, I was asked to enter my Verizon PIN (I entered a false PIN of 1234) and then was prompted to enter the last four digits of my SSN (again, I entered false numbers of 1111). I then received an electronic voice message that advised me that my account was now un-suspended. CLEARLY a scam. It's going to get a bunch of people, though. No accent, not perfect English, but really close, and a local number.

An automated call - allegedly from Verizon - said I had an outstanding balance with Verizon and should proceed to pay it. I hung up immediately. I contacted Verizon directly who confirmed I had no balance due. Whenever someone says I owe, I always check independently first before agreeing to do or say anything else. I've now blocked th enumber (as if that will stop these people...)

I received a call from a man in December 2018 saying he was with Verizon and that someone at a retail store in New Jersey had just tried to open a Verizon account with my name and social security number. Their system alerted the transaction and the "representative" asked me if I authorized the new account. I said no, definitely not (we live in WA state). He asked me several questions and sent 3-4 authentication texts that looked legitimate from Verizon that he had me give the numbers back to him. He told me the person would be arrested and a police report sent to me in 3-5 business days. The report never came. A month later I tried to log into my Verizon account and couldn't. When I called, I found someone had changed my email, mailing address, and even my security pin number. The Fraud department at Verizon said they never called me at all- that's when I realized the whole call had been a scam.

I’m calling from Verizon And say that your account is suspended temporarily and u need to provide last 4 digits of social if u want to reset automatically . Please note that the first words are not audible till last 4 digits . Auto teller asks option1 automatic or option 2 customer care . Since it was not audible , i selected auto , but when I heard from Verizon , I got a doubt since I go with another carrier and cut the phone . I called back , number not reachable . Looks like they want to hack my passwords to bank acts, credit cards . Watch out please and taken action deemed necessary

This person identifying themselves as Jesse Homes, a manager employed with Verizon phone service, called our cell phone on 11/14/2017, at approximately 5:05 pm, to say there was a problem with our last payment on our phone service. He claimed, they had updated their system and that the new system had rejected our payment due to the card was expired and that we needed to correct the information regarding our card or they (Verizon) was going to suspend our phone service. Unfortunately, my husband and I fell for it and gave him the correct information, an hour later, when my husband and I went to make a purchase, our card was declined. Fortunately, our banking institution locked our card due to a 300 dollar purchase that looked suspicious. We contacted our cell phone carrier the next day and they claimed they had not contacted us and our account and phone service was fine. We luckily did not lose any money but, it very well could have turned out differently. This number is still active as of 11/15/2017 and when we attempted to search the number he had called from, the information we found claims the number belongs to a landline in Albany, Georgia.

Consumer received a voicemail from 844-228-7943 on her cell phone; the caller also called her fax number and her home phone number. The message said that her email account was hacked into by Russians, and they ("Verizon") were protecting her by freezing her account. The caller identified himself as "Juna Bashir" and said to call him right away at 844-228-4743 ext. 428 to unfreeze her account.
