- Spring, TX, USA

I was contacted via text on March 16, 2021 by a man who texted "This is Mr. Tom from ziprecruiter. I hope a position of payroll assistant available for you" I replied I am currently employed right now. He replied "You can work along with your current job". I waited a day and replied back to get more information regarding the position and asked if it was remote work. His text reply "this is online work from home and you can get the task done via your device, laptop and your smartphone as long as you have 24hour access at your home is that understood?"

I asked about how many hours a week is projected? He replied, "The pay is $1500 for 25 to 30 hours weekly." I asked about benefits. He replied, "Benefits: Health, Dental, Life and AD&D Insurance, Employee Wellness and 401K plans. Paid time off and holidays with generous company discounts.

I was on the fence if this was a real opportunity, but he had all my contact information. I asked him to email me the job details and he told me what my email address was and asked if I wanted him to send the information to that one. Long story short he sent the job description with no company name which is normal sometimes for a recruiter to do. Then he asked me how close I lived to a FEDEX office or united states postal service. Then started back asking qualification questions like how fast do I type, work ethic, and accountability. Then he states I am a a perfect fit for the job. Then he asked me to send a photo of my ID. I did.

Then I asked him the name of the company. He replied, "RCAP Solution". Then he proceeded to tell me my address and asked if the I was still living there. I said no and gave my new address because I had just recently moved. Then I started getting more suspicious because he asked me the name of my bank. I told him then he asked "how long have I been banking there?" I replied, "WHY?"

He said, "To be sure on the rate of the amount you can receive with your bank" Then I replied, "I will just start off getting a check mailed for my service" Then he asked me for my "Name on account, Account number, and routing number" I declined to give him that information. Then he said once you receive mail check from company client, you will have to take a clear picture of it before you proceed with deposit of record, is that understood?

I asked him to call me and he did to my surprise. And then he went back to texting me regarding the shipping of my first assignment. And then the conversation ended.

He contacted me again on March 22, 2021 and said "You are starting your duties as instructed by next coming week..." I replied so there is no interview with the actual company I will be working for? He replied, "This is an online work from home, after proper review on your resume, the company is well ok with you, just follow the instructions as instructed when it's time to proceed.

He contacted me again on March 27, 2021 and texted, "Did you got any update via FedEx today?" I replied, NO.

He contacted me today on April 7, 2021 Apologizing on the delay of the package due to Covid-19 issues etc. "You will be receive a check of $3,850 in 2 check on envelopes."

I replied, I'm no longer interested. Please stop sending me messages. I believe this is a scam and have contacted local authorities"

He did not reply.
