I looked for contactless thermometers online for my niece, who is immunocompromised and is a caregiver for her daughters' children. I saw an advertisement from brauntherm.com which looked like the kind of product I wanted. I assumed this was related to the German company Braun, so I ordered it directly online on April 1. My niece didn't tell me that the product didn't arrive until a month had passed after I received the "shipment confirmation" from Brauntherm. I informed "[email protected]" in 2 emails on May 9 that the thermometer never arrived. Their replies were as follows:

May 9, 12:10 PM:

"Hi

I'm sorry to tell you that we have been informed by the express company

The delivery is delayed because your parcel has been intercepted by the customs

To express our apologies, we will put 10 masks in your package and then send you the goods again

Thank you for your understanding"

and May 9, 1:18 PM:

"Hi

I am sorry for the delay.

Due to the large volume of orders, flights are tight.

The logistics company piled up a lot of parcels ,so the transportation time will be delayed.

Tracking info updating is also relatively slow.

We have contacted logistics company to deliver your order ASAP.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

I have received no communication from them since that time. I paid by PayPal and I am going to initiate a complaint with PayPal, but I'm afraid this is just a complete mail scam. I am attaching a PDF of screenshot of the e-mails I exchanged with them. On the left-hand side is a list of the e-mails I exchanged with them and on the right is the full content of one email. (The top item in the list is an unrelated advertisement.)

Please add this to your scam list, and if you have anything to communicate about this, please reply to my email. I will update if I get more information. Thank you.

I bought a no touch thermometer, only to realize this was a scam site after I realized I couldn’t track it.

Business deceives buyer into thinking that they are Braun, a German reputable company. Then they send, many weeks later, an inferior product that does not work! It is impossible to get in touch with this company or even get an address to return a defective product. This scam forehead thermometer does not work. I am a doctor that was intended to use this product to protect people from the Covid-19 virus. This website was established on March 27, 2020. It is fake. The reviews on the ScamPulse.com are horrible.

Being asthmatic and immune compromised, I worried that with allergies and the Covid-scare, I needed to keep track of my blood oxygen since I have been struggling for months. I searched fr a pulse oximeter. I found BraunTherm which had a week turnaround and appeared to charging a bit more which I figured was the state of demand at this point. I paid through Paypal and anticipated receiving it. After a week of no delivery/update, I became worried that my money had gone to someone with malintent.

Taking advantage of people who need health supplies during this scary time is disgusting. People who do this belong in jail. I wish there was recourse. My bank account says Quan Zhou Shi Yi Iat Paypal 200427

I was looking on a reputable company’s (Braun) website for a pulse oximeter. When I entered pulse oximeter into search on the Braun website I was directed to this link, brauntherm.com. The website looked legitimate and had an https address and a lock icon.

Believing that it was a Braun product, I ordered a pulse oximeter using Pay Pal. The money was immediately taken out of my Pay Pal account where I have an Amex card registered. When a week went by without a shipping date, I sent an email. I did not receive a reply, so I called the number listed on the website. A recording said that a support agent was not available and I should leave a voicemail for someone to contact me. Nobody contacted me. I began to believe that it was a bogus website, and I entered a complaint at Pay Pal’s resolution center. I also called Amex, who said they would refund my purchase, which they did. The worst part of this experience was that I called my sister and 3 friends to urge them to buy the pulse oximeter because of COVID 19. I felt terrible that I had led them into this scam. Each of them had to cancel their credit cards and get new ones. One of them found that this company is registered in China. I called the number on the real Braun website and a customer support agent told me that brauntherm.com is not a company related to Braun. She said she had received several calls during the past two weeks from customers like me who believed that brauntherm.com was a Braun company.

Searched google for no touch forehead thermometers for my practice. Came across this website and purchased one as the turnaround was about a week. Paid through PayPal. Came to find out almost immediately that it was a scam company set up to get money from people during the Covid crisis. Such a shame. Please do not purchase anything on this website.
