Broadwing Communications Reports & Reviews (8)

Left messages that say “thank you for watching, thank you for watching”. No clue what it’s about but my BUSINESS line is on the DNC and it’s illegal for any company to call that early. A callback shows their VM is full, another sign of a scammer. BBB reports are not responded to.

- Chicago, IL, USA

This company is harassing me with non-stop phone calls. In just two days they have called me from at least 12 different numbers. After the first call I got a message on my answering machine of someone just breathing, so I looked the number up and saw that other people are having the same issue. I don't know what their scam is, but no legitimate business calls you from this many different numbers. I want the calls to stop! I'm blocking numbers as fast as they come in (you can tell it's them because they show up from Willow Springs, IL every time) but it doesn't seem to matter.

- Denton, TX, USA

They made several attempts to call and have me verify my social security number, and said if I did not comply that I would have a warrant out for my arrest. When I tried to ask questions, they hung up. When I called back I was cussed out.

- Rocky Face, GA, USA

They called me and asked for make and model. I told them they called me they should know. He said we will never call you again and hung up. I called the number several times and no one answered. Very suspicious.

- Fort Lee, NJ, USA

They call from different area codes, and sometimes `10 minutes apart. Please get them to desist.

- Fort Lee, NJ, USA

I am getting robo-calls multiple times a day, sometimes minutes apart. I registered their number with the Do Not Call Registry and still they call. It is beyond annoying!

- Belleville, MI, USA

Caller asked "can you hear me?" I replied "yes". I immediately recalled the scam is going around regarding these types of calls so I then hung up. Unfortunately I replied "yes" but I did not provide any other information.

This is a transcription of the voicemail my parents received:

"This is message is intended to contact you. My name is Denis Quaid, and I'm calling regarding an enforcement action executed by the U.S. Treasury intending receiver's attention. Ignoring this will be an intentional offense to avoid initial appearance for a magistrate judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense. My number is 814-615-5024. I repeat 814-615-5024. I advise you to cooperate with us and help us to help you. Thank you."

A search of the phone number revealed it belongs to Broadwing Communications. I called this number several times, but most of the calls were dropped after 20-30 seconds. In other calls, I heard an automatic error message after 10 seconds. Once someone answered the phone, speaking extremely poor English. I started explaining that I had received a phone call from this number and was immediately hung up on.
