Business Compliance Services Reports & Reviews (5)

I almost fell for this one until I realised that I wasn't due until October...

This letter came in made to look like a billing from the Secretary of State, it details my annual fee of $60 with an additional $85 "Annual Report Filing Service Fee" on top of that. The letter wants you to mail your payment to them so they can file your annual fee for you. This letter is FULL of grammatical errors, spelling errors, and missing punctuation. At the very bottom it does say you don't have to use their services, but I'm not sure if they even actually file anything on your behalf once you've paid.

We received an unsolicited letter through USPS which appears to be government official business which states: "SOS requires every reporting entity in the State to timely file an Annual Report every year. If you do not file a report for more than 60 days past its due date, you may be at risk For penalties and fines and good standing." It then goes on to provide instructions to detach and mail a form (invoice) for them to file the annual report - the total charge is $145 ($60 for the "State Fee" and a $85 "Processing Fee"). In fairness, it does state in the form that they are not affiliated, endorsed, or approved by any governmental agency...that this is an advertisement - but one must carefully read the form to find this information. At best, this is extremely misleading. At worst, it appears to pressure one to pay for something that is not required.

I am an LLC. A letter arrived today from Business Compliance Services, stating to file an annual report every year. Within the letter, it requests my business to provide the names of each director and officer, my business EIN Number, verify my business as an LLC, my LLC address, insurance company, policy number and date of coverage, email, signature, and states: "Please make your check payable to BUSINESS COMPLIANCE SERVICES...for a total of $175.00. The first tip off was a 'processing Fee' of $75.00. The second was the address which is a UPS location.

My wife received a notice in the mail, at our home address, from the above company claiming that her company (non-existent) may be out of compliance with federal and state laws and that to get in compliance she should send them money in exchange for "Employmetn Law Posters" and pamphlets. the letter has "Public information" a business with my wife's name as the business name at our home address and a business ID number.
