Got a call and they asked if it was me on the phone and i stupidly said "yes". Called # back and it was an unrelated business, but I'm nervous that they will use my "yes" to enroll in services.

Received a call from this number asking if I was happy with my current home rate. Looking for a "yes" answer. Do not pickup or reply.

- Lawrenceville, GA, USA

Female voice knew my name, address, called personal cell phone and asked if I would take cash for my home. When I answered "no," she hesitated and said "oh, ok" and we disconnected.

I called the number back and it rang several times before saying "user busy" and not connecting. The phone number was local to where I live.

Asks can you bear them and you win a free vacation.

Called sr citizen and solicited "yes" response for recording purpose. Asked "can you hear me ok?" Potential for the scammer to commit fraud and unauthorized financial transactions.

- Suwanee, GA, USA

I answered a call from the unknown number 404-144-6639 and was asked if I could hear the individual. I said, "Yes." Then they asked another question and I said, "Yes" again. I have heard about this scam where they record your voice when you say "yes" and use it to authorize charges, etc... I completely fell for it thinking it was my well being coach call. When I dialed the number back it was a number that cannot be completed as dialed.

- Mukwonago, WI, USA

I received a call from the phone number 262-205-0477. It was the "can you hear me" scam where if you say "yes", you will be billed a charge to your cell phone statement. I hung up but this is the second time in two months they have called me.

- Conyers, GA, USA

I received a call asking if I wanted to follow up on an inquiry for employment. Seeing as I've been applying for jobs, and honestly a bit desperate for one being a college student. I immediately fell into "interview mode" and said "yes" only for them to hang up. Nothing has actually happened yet, however with the sheer amount of scammers going around I felt like others should know about this method in case something does happen. I already had anxiety about answering the phone for numbers I'm not familiar with, and this is only making it much worse.

- Richmond, VA, USA

Just keep annoying call trying to get me to say "yes" to the question "Do you hear me Okay?"

I answered the phone and there was silence. Normally I hang up but I was expecting a call from a blocked phone and I was distracted so I waited. The first thing the guy said when he came on was "Can you hear me?" And stupidly I said yes. I immediately remembered this was a scam and hung up, but I'm afraid it's too late.

- Atlanta, GA, USA

I believe I was targeted by the "can you hear me" scam via this number. I inadvertently said yes upon answering and now realize this is a scam. I am very concerned about them targeting me further on this so attempting to stay proactive.

A lady called and said she was with the cdc and doing a survey on the flu and wanted to know of i had children in my household under the age of 20. I said no, then she wanted to know if there were people in my household over the age of 50 and replied yes.

Answered phone. Man asked for Lisa . Told him wrong number. He repeated my number and asked if that was it and stupidly I replied yes. He apologized and said bye.

I was an [censored] and fell for th Can You Hear Me Scam. I will never answer a number I do not have saved again.

It just happened today, so I REALLY hope I can monitor my credit and recover any money that is attempted to be taken.

An African-American voice asked "Can you hear me?" Before realizing this was a scam question, I answered yes, then the call hung up.

- Canton, GA, USA

They said the were booking or travel.... And then asked, "Can you hear me now?"

- Duluth, GA, USA

I just received a phone call at my job in a large corporation. I answered the phone, ' good afternoon, this is Donna ' and a female voice on the other end said, "Donna?" (it did sound like a 'live' person) to which I responded "yes". After 5 seconds, the phone was disconnected.

I had heard about a similar situation, only 1) it was implied that this was only on consumer phones and 2) the question would be, "can you hear me?"

I don't have any proof, of course, but I will be even more vigilant, as the caller had at the very least my first name along with my work telephone #.
