I called Verizon after I couldn't move the cursor in my computer. Verizon's Tech Support gave told me that the internet was working fine and that I probably had a Microsoft problem. They gave 2 phone numbers to call Microsoft: 855-991-0589 and 800-642-7676. I finally got thru on the 855 number. I got a company Connecting Solution that claimed they work with or for Microsoft. I talked to a Tim Patro who told me that I perhaps had a real problem with my computer. Since I had gotten the number from Verizon, I felt assured that Tim was reliable and knew what he was talking about. So l gave him entrance to my computer. Then he showed my computer had a virus and that my information had been hacked! Showed me that already had been 5 (five) business transactions taken from my bank account. Never addressed my computer problem. Then he told me that my bill was going to be $499.99! I told him I will not pay unless he fixes my computer and send me a bill. He told me he had to go home to take care of this family and will call me in the morning. Next day I had a charge of $499.99 in my checking account. Went to my bank and put a stop payment and changed password and bank account. I had one call but I was told by the bank not to answer.(I reported this to Verizon Headquarters in New York City).
