CORE service group Reports & Reviews (1)

- Santa Rosa, CA, USA

I was applying for a remote job on indeed February 16 and came across the "CORE service group" for an online administrative clerk/customer rep. This fraudulent company claimed to be working with The *** company and the recruiter posed as the man Shawn Ullman (staff member of The ***). I had my interview via Skype on the 17th and was hired the same day. I was sent an FW4 form (required my SSN), Direct deposit paperwork (bank account number required), and another piece of paperwork. I was also sent a fake check and told to deposit it so I could pay for the necessary work materials. I have more than enough screenshots of conversations and information to support you in an investigation. Once I confronted the frauds one of them tried to make a deal with me about the fake check saying, "If you give me 2000 you can keep the rest" ("given" a total 3950). I had to call the IRS to inform them that someone had my SSN, make a new bank account, filing a report with IC3, and had to freeze all my credit. I told them to give me their name and their location before they tried to make a deal and I was given the name Crawford and told they lived in Chicago. I have all the numbers/accounts they used to contact me as well.
