CPC Clinical Research / imposter Reports & Reviews (1)

I applied for a remote position for data entry with several companies on LinkedIn. I was contacted via email stating that they would like to schedule an interview through Ring Central. I figured this was because they wanted to assess my skills to see if I could perform all the duties since it was a remote position. I received notification the next day that I would be moving forward in the hiring process and that HR would send over the paperwork stating that I accept the position and so forth. I was really excited about the position and I started researching the LinkedIn page to add my hiring recruiter Sandy A. Brinks. I found her on LinkedIn, but her profile stated that she worked for the company 3 years ago. So I thought that was strange. I believed in the mission that the company had because this position gave me the opportunity to help vascular patients on the back end. After I signed my acceptance letter, Sandy told me that I had to write an assessment paragraph about my past administrative mistakes and what I learned from them. She told me I had 4-5 hours to submit it and that my time would be rewarded. I completed the assignment and she told me that I was approved for the home office and the company is gifting me $100 because "my time is valuable". The next morning I received an email with instructions about the home office and attached were copies of the front and back of a check for $4,199. Sandy told me to print them off and then use my bank's mobile app to do an e-deposit. This all didn't sit right with me, so I called my bank. Then I called the bank listed on the check and it sounded like a man sitting in his living room with the tv loud. Then I researched the company on the check and it was completely different from CPC Clinical Research. I didn't trust any of it so I told my recruiter that didn't seem right and wanted clarity. My response was ignored and the next day "Sandy" asked me several times if I deposited the check because I was instructed to let her know when I completed that step. I told her my boyfriend is an officer and wanted me to ensure this wasn't fraud and that I needed someone to call me. After that...I heard nothing else from Sandy nor CPC Clinical Research.
