The scammer initially contacted me via text message and invited me to participate in an online interview via Microsoft teams. I clicked the link provided to join the interview and spoke with a "Tony Day." Interview process was suspicious because Mr Day's responses did not seem to correspond to my own messages. I was asked to complete a Google form asking me for information such as where I banked, if I owned a credit card and what my credit limit was, my driver's license, and other personal information such as my marital status, address and previous employment.

I remained skeptical but continued with the interview process and then was emailed a job offer letter. The letter was suspiciously worded and did not address me directly. Mr Day then told me via Microsoft teams that I would need to purchase a list of expensive equipment for the purposes of performing my job. I was told I would be receiving money with which to purchase this equipment. That is when I knew this was definitely a scam and not a valid job or company.
