I received a letter from DCM services addressed to "The Estate of ______" , sending condolences regarding my mother's death (she's still alive), and stating that, "DCM services is trying to identify and locate the person who is authorized to act on behalf of ____'s estate." The letter goes on to say, "We can only disclose information regarding the Estate's financial affairs to the person authorized to act on behalf of the Estate because we are obligated to keep that information private and confidential. ....Due to this obligation, we cannot share further information regarding our company's purpose..."

The letter seems to hint that they are a collection agency without saying so directly, but doesn't specify who they are collecting a debt/bills for. I know my mom doesn't have any outstanding bills or debt, because I handle her payments. When I called this company to say "Take her off your list" , the man I spoke with wanted the final 4 numbers of her social which I didn't give him, and said, "I can make a note of this" when I asked him to update his information about my mom being alive. I was hesitant to ask and answer too many questions for fear of getting a "As we discussed with you by phone" letter in the future.

To anybody who worries about money--all of us--the letter seemed a little threatening. The nonexistent debt is not specified. Whatever medical company/utility/organization DCM is trying to collect a nonexistent debt for is not specified. Who are these people and is this considered fraud?

I'm going to ignore them for now, but I expect I'll hear from them again after my mother dies.

Received a letter today from these people to "The Estate of J.M." (not using his name, but it is my deceased father). They are trying to collect information on his next of kin/person authorized to act on behalf of his estate. They don't say why because they must keep the information "private and confidential." Why would I tell you with no indication of *why* you're contacting me. There is no explanation of why they sent the letter, only that they need to contact the estate.

My father had credit cards, sure, but he also had 2 different calls about collections that weren't his, one for a credit card (that he never had) and one for medical bills (which were under someone else's name, but they kept calling his phone after he told them at least 5 different times that no one had ever had the number but him, and he wasn't the person they were looking for).

How dare someone decide to contact the family of someone who recently died to pretend they're collecting debts!? How DARE THEY DECIDE TO BRING UP MY TRAUMA AFTER NOT EVEN SIX MONTHS HAVE GONE BY AFTER HIS PASSING!? HOW DARE THEY SEND THIS RIGHT BEFORE FATHER'S DAY LIKE I'M GOING TO BE OK SEEING A SCAM ABOUT MY FATHER!?

Received a letter from DCM Services on 04/18/2022. Phishing for estate information regarding my deceased husband. 04/19/2022 received a vague call from DCM Servics on my personal cell phone. They were trying to identify who was over my husband's estate. After I stated that I was over the estate, they said that he owed $319 to some medical company. To my knowledge, I had paid all of his medical bills. Please warn other grieving individuals of this possible scam.

oday I received a letter from DCM SERVICES, MINNEAPOLIS, MN 55423. addressed to The Estate of Karen Longo. Stating that they’re “seeking to identify and locate the person who has the authority to pay any outstanding bills out of the estate. If you know the identity of this person, please provide it in one of the following ways”. I believe this to be a phishing scam or a fraudulent attempt to have phantom bills paid. My wife had excellent credit and paid all her bills ontime or in advance. Whenever she received invoice for anything we would pay it off in full, even on her credit card, the balance owed is paid off in full every month. If she had owed money to anyone they would have sent her an invoice or give her a call, neither has she ever been contacted by any collection agencies in the many years I was with her. She resided in her last residence for over 7 years which made it doubly easy for anyone needing to contact her, she was even listed in the yellow pages directory here in phoenix. I’m absolutely certain she has no outstanding debts. If you do believe this is a legitimate debt would you please supply me with these information’s so I can have my lawyer look into the case. 1. Name or names of companies she owes money to, 2. Their Addresses, 3. Their Telephone number, 4. The date the debt was incurred 5. For what she owed this debt 6.The amount she owes 7. The account number for her debt. Thank you.

This company sent my grandmother a letter regarding wanting a payment of $504 from the estate of my late grandfather. there is no estate. he passed 2 months ago and there is no reason why they should be asking for money. I called in to explain to the person who answered the phone and he asked me if I was calling to yell at him or calling to resolve this matter. his fake name rhymed and everything about the call was very sketchy. please don't send this company any money.
