Dominion VA Power Reports & Reviews (7)

We received a phone call from (703)631-8399 to our studio phone with an automated message that they were going to shut off our power in 30 minutes due to an unpaid balance.

After some research, we've determined that this is spam.

Thank you!

They called saying my electric service would be cut off if I didn't pay immediately and had to get a prepaid card for 500.00 and I later realized it was a scam when I called the number to my electric company and I didn't owe anything like I thought

I was called and told my business power would be cut off if not paid within 2 hours, that they had no record of my recent payments, that they would do an internal audit but I would still lose my power. My bank verified that my payments had been made

The number I was given to call was 1-844-308-9014 Joel Jenkins Extension 77 He said I would have to go to the Rite Aid on Volvo parkway, purchase 2 money pacs then call him with the scratch off numbers on the back so that I could pay cash and not have my power turned off.

A man, said his name was David Harris, calling from Dominion VA Power. Said that they were going to disconnect our power within the hour due to nonpayment. I put him on hold and asked the owner if we pay a Dominion power bill...we do not pay it directly, the condo association pays it. So I told David that we don't pay that bill ourselves. He said he'd check with dispatch. He had a thick accent and something seemed off from the start. I'm sure he was a scammer and would have requested payment over the phone if I hadn't shut him down. The phone number he was calling from was 844-277-9449, which does not appear to be a Dominion VA Power number.

A person identifying himself as Brian and claiming to represent Dominion Virginia Power claimed that there was a disconnect scheduled for my business the day of the call. the call originated from (844) 244-9660. I was told to contact Dominion Virginia Power at the same number in order to pay the bill and stop the disconnect order. Had already paid the bill and new this was a scam from the beginning.

- Petersburg, VA, USA

A man named Jason Martinez called our business and claimed he worked for Dominion VA Power company and said that he was giving us a notice to cut our power off in 30-45 minutes if they didn't receive payment over the phone. He was told that the office manager was out at the moment and he gave a # 1-844-221-0211 and said to please have her contact me but this is not my direct # it is to our billing department. I, office manager, was called and given this message and immediately returned to work and called the # on my statements directly to Dom. VA Power and the automated message warned of scammers calling with this exact tale and I checked my last payment that was made on time and cleared our bank account. I then decided not to call the scammers but to inform BBB. I hope you can do something with this information I am giving you in order to catch the perpetrators.
