I've been contacted via email, phone calls, and texts multiple times a day for the past two weeks by Expertise.com reps asking me to "verify [my] listing" on their website. I did not ask for my business to be listed on their website and, in fact, have told them to remove it. I do not want to be connected to their "business" and yet, the emails, calls, and texts continue. They come from multiple email addresses and phone numbers. The latest one was from a "Miley" and before that, it was "Chris Montepara." For anyone wondering what they do, look at their replies to past complaints. It's all canned response nonsense and listings are never removed.

All they're doing is adding basic information to their "listings" about our companies based on the information we have available on our own websites, so now we get to fight in our SERPs with another phony listing site. They should be shut down.

After researching private investigators on their website, they claim that out of a certain number of experts, they list the top ones rated in a person's area. I paid the private investigator they referred to me, Armando Zatarain, $10,000 who later withdrew before preparing the documents he was hired to prepare (and provide to my attorney) before court dates connected to two deaths in my family and litigation arising out of that. Zatarain's billing included about $2,000 for driving out to my house to talk to me BEFORE I even hired him, when he claimed he was in my area and wanted to stop by. I would have just driven to him for free! His billing included work I did not ask him to do and he ultimately kept almost all of the $10,000 and left us having to get continuances with the court. He ended up costing us more than any work he ever did for us, I reported him and he falsely prepared a binder for the agency that oversees private investigators in an effort to cover his tracks. He was very attentive only after he was reported. When I sent him a demand email letting him know I would be suing him if he did not return the money, he immediately responded within minutes at about midnight (which he never did when I was dealing with him), commenting that it's a free country. I can do whatever I want. After some investigation I learned that expertise.com takes money from people and businesses to put them at the top of their lists for the area they are experts in. The new, very reputable private investigator I have been consulting with actually informed me that he bought zatarain's business, then gave it back to him and is aware of his issues he has with money, billing and properly handling his clients. I will be suing Zatarain. Expertise.com cost us quite a bit of money and time.
