Heartland Payment Services Inc. Reports & Reviews (1)

I applied for a job as a receptionist/ admin assistant with Heartland payment systems on Indeed.com a couple days later I was emailed from the company telling me that they were impressed with my resume and I should email the hiring recruiter via google and to download google hangouts. I did what I was told and got in contact with an Amanda Russell who gave me an interview via google hangouts by just asking multiple questions, I was told I would be making $25 a hour and $30 hour for training and the job would be from home. which was a major red flag because it sounded too good to be true I felt like I was getting baited. so I did some research on the company no fraud came up but there were hundreds of employees complaining about how terrible the company is. So I decided to keep going forward, Amanda then offered me the job and told me I would be sent a check to buy all the supplies I would need for the job, which was also a red flag because they never asked to verify my identity nor did I sign any paperwork. I said okay and I was transferred to my "training supervisor" who barely talked about training he just wanted to know when the check arrived which it did the very next day in the amount of $4,900. he then instructed that I only deposit the check into the atm or via mobile deposit because using a teller would take too long and to email him once I did so. after every insturctions they gave me they would ask "are you able to handle this, or I trust you are capable to handle this?". Instead of listening to him I took the check to the bank to verify it before I completely ruined my life and I am so happy I did so because the teller told me that the amount on that check did not match the amount on the check numbers. so I decided to play along with it and I told him that I had $1500 of the check available he then instructed me to go to a target store with my debit card and purchase eBay gift cards worth $500 each. after that I let him know that I was on to him and he then blocked me from both email accounts.
