Scam Loan Modification Scam. Home Matters promised to get my mother a better monthly rate. She was asked to mail the mortgage directly to Home Matters (money order or cashiers check only) and in turn they would work it out with the current mortgage company. My mother paid Home Matters monthly for over a year. In April she was served with a foreclosure notice. When I called the mortgage company they had Home Matters as the POC on the loan, not my mother. They were receiving all the late notices and calls regarding non payment of the current loan. The foreclosure notice came from the County of Maricopa directly to the home address or she might not have known about the foreclosure. Home Matters does not answer phone calls and has not returned any calls. My mother will not recover her money but I am warning all to not work with Home Matters. When I google Home Matters I see many complaints about them using the same scam and about others losing Thousands of Dollars which are not recoverable.
