They call and say I have a refund, from a virus protection plan I purchased 3 years ago. They say I did not use it. Then, they want my credit card numbers and I say I do not want to give them to them. Then they ask for my Bank name and they say they can transfer the money there. I also tell them, I am not giving them that information. I ask why can't they just send me the money, as they have my home address. They say they want to do it the other way and it is safe.

The first few times, I hung up and finally blocked their #. They called 26 times in a row on Friday. Very frustrating.

Do not know who they were, but I have not received a refund, either.

They told me my Windows program was losing its license and I needed to call a number to reinstate it.

Keep getting calls from someone named Sam who sounds middle Eastern. He first claimed to be from Best Buy then later changed his story to say he is with Microsoft. He first called from a Delaware number then after I blocked that number he called from a Colorado number. I blocked that number and now he is calling from an Illinois number. Sometimes he calls four times in one minute. I do not answer or try to tell him to stop calling if I do answer. He says he fixed my computer at Best Buy. I think Best Buy's system was hacked because I did recently bring my computer in for updates.

I clicked on a pop-up on my desktop computer screen, stating I had malware and needed help. I called the phone number and allowed remote access to my pc. The tech then charged me $70 for the service and I gave him my debit acct. number. I later realized it was a possible scam and contacted my bank immediately to close that account, which they did. I lost no money. However, the tech stated he needed my I.D. info, so I scanned and e-mailed my driver's license to him. He also instructed me to purchase a webcam, which I did, as he stated he needed a photo of me.

I received a call from John Adkins from Microsoft saying that they had worked on my computer 3 years ago and they are closing and that I was to get my money back. They told me that they had transferred too much money, $2500 into my account and that I would need to go to Target and get 4 gift cards in the amount of $500 each. He stayed on the phone with me while I drove to Target and told me not to tell them it was for computer tech, but rather it was for personal use. Otherwise they would add all sorts of taxes to it. I put 2 gift cards on my debit card and 2 on my credit card. He asked me to read the numbers, but I was having problems doing so and he told me to get a magnifying glass and read the cards. I read each one and he said, ok that one is good. Then he said there was a problem with one card. He was on my computer and told me to stay off it all evening. I went to the bank today and was there 2 hours while they changed all of my accounts. Now I cannot get on my computer as it won't re-start.
