Definite Scam

I got a text from Michael Weber asking if I was interested in a part-time VA position. He left an email address [email protected] - anyone from a construction company that would pay 500 a week for 4 hours of work would have a business (domain) email. I'm wondering if this was because I was on Indeed for a short time yesterday and searched for virtual assistant jobs? I am a tech VA and have been for years so the whole thing is just weird. The number he texted me from was 619-315-4788.

He texted me looking for a virtual Assistant to help with his "Office Needs." I'm a true researcher, so I replied, "I am pleased to know that you chose me out of hundreds of candidates. As you may have seen my experience and expertise in office work is both lengthy and credible therefore I'm looking to work for a valid company that can add value and learning to my resume so send me your email address and employer's identification number so I can check ANNND be assured that I'm working for honest people who's looking to help others succeed instead of hindering others in a time like this."

Virtual Assistant Job in my Small construction firm

This person reached out to me via text message claiming I applied for a Virtual Assistant position. asking for my full name and address- I gave a PO Box and my name however if I applied would he/they not have my full name.. Strange RED FLAG! This person claim my first assignment was to learn how to use Crypto Currency. Then they asked if I was familiar with Crypto Currency. Then expressed a check for $4650 dollars would be sent to my P.O. Box from their associate next week. claiming that amount would include salary, money for the assignment and stated they would walk me through it. Along with keeping me updated regarding when the check is mailed out next week. Strange I never received an offer letter, and full name or address..

I am pretty sure that they are scammers. Their asking to much info in of you in a text message. I'm glad grandma didn't fall for it. No job I've ever sought-after would require you to confirm personnel info to a random text message. The number that they tried me on was 3859853331. But they may change again.

New number they are using now is 1-256-583-2860. Received a message from them a week ago. Not sure how they got my number. But it has to be from a job website because I just started looking for a new job and I’ve only been on indeed and Glassdoor. So they have to be selling our info on those websites b

My grandmother called me regarding an email she received about an employment opportunity. The job description on the website is as follows:

"Whatever the skyline, building or experience that first sparked your interest in construction, we are pleased that you are interested in Our Construction Company. Every project starts with a team of dedicated employees. We are looking for individuals who are eager to develop their skills and apply them together to create the buildings where people play, work, learn and live. More than Construction Naturally, We are interested in candidates with backgrounds related to construction management or engineering. But, like any other company, we are also looking for individuals in fields like finance, accounting, human resources and business development. As you browse the opportunities available at Our Company you may be surprised by the range of possibilities open to you. We know it takes a diverse team to build the future and we are looking for all types of talent to contribute."

I've also included some other descriptions from the website:

There are grammatical errors, typos, and inconsistencies in the language used. For example, there are portions that say "WE are looking for..." and then there are portions that say "I am looking for" or "MY assistant".

To fill out an application, my grandmother would have had to provide some banking information, which is what made her call me to ask if this was a scam. Luckily she did not give out any of her information. I went to the Better Business Bureau website to see if this company was listed on here as a legitimate business. I did not find the company on here. The job descriptions were reminiscent of ways I have heard other scammers get the money from their victims: sending envelopes to "clients", donating money to charity on behalf of the "employer", etc... so I came to the conclusion that this very well might be a scam. If this is a scam, I hope the site can be shut down and the scammers are caught.
