Microsoft Help - fake Reports & Reviews (1)

My daughter was using her laptop to look up 123movies and a pop up came up. She saw the phone number 888-434-6603 for microsoft help so she called. She trusted the number she called because she was seeking help to protect her information. What she received was a person who hacked into her computer then verbally abused her. I know this because I heard the entire exchange as she had the call on speaker. While she was on the phone, I decided to dial the same number and find out what was going on and what kind of scam they were running. I, too, received extremely rude behavior. I demanded to speak to the manager. Someone else got on the line and I explained why I was enraged at what was happening. At that point, the person on the other end of my daughter's phone hung up. When I told the man that I was speaking to that, he then hung up on me as well. My daughter called back to ask for valid help to get this other person removed from access to her computer. This man, too, was running a scam and said completely vulgar things to my daughter. The reason I called to begin with was to find out why Microsoft would try to charge my daughter $500 for something she never asked for. Then the price went to $300 then $200. The number I called was apparently diverted to a different number altogether. When I told the man the number I called, he stated that was not the number I was calling.
