I also started applying for jobs on Indeed, and Zip Recruiter. Received an email from DiversityJobBoard.com with a listing for an Administrative Assistant job with Plextek Limited ($45/hour). I clicked the job description and all seemed fine. I registered for the job board's profile to apply for this position. I loaded my resume and submitted the application. The next morning I received an email stating that my resume was approved and wanted to schedule an interview immediately via skype. As always, I like to research a company before going on an interview. That's where my doubts started. When I searched Plextek Limited, I kept getting results for Plextek Design and Technology Specialists a company based out of the UK. The results also were for Plextek.com and the email I received was from [email protected]. When I searched plextek.org I got an error message. I also checked on LinkedIn and the only company that appeared was Plextek Design and Technology Specialist, and their LinkedIn profile had no jobs posted. The individuals, Mr. Daniel Williams and Mr. Pat Schmitt, listed in the email I received did not appear as being associated with this company. The names listed also seemed too generic and they kept using Mr. as the prefix. The email's salutation was "Dear Applicant," instead of using my name. The concluding statement was very odd, I felt as if they were forcing me to take action right away. While searching I stumbled across this forum and saw that I was not the only one that felt uneasy about this company. So I tried calling DiversityJobBoard.com to verify if they vetted this posting, but the voicemail seemed to be to a personal cell phone. I just didn't feel comfortable moving forward with this. I chose to delete my profile from that job board and declined the job when I received the text message from a Dallas, TX number from Mr. James Wheeler. I have also reported them to the proper authorities to help prevent others from falling for this scheme.

The same thing just happened to me. They sent me a check from a whole different company, so I called the company that the check was from and it was a fraudulent check of an account that was closed last week due to them being hacked. I then reported them to the proper authorities, let them know, and they stopped texting me.

I have been applying to jobs via Indeed.com lately, and today I had received a text from a woman claiming to be named Amy Donovan. Amy Donovan stated she works for Plextek Limited and stated that my resume was reviewed by the company and proceeded to tell me about the open positions available. I responded with yes, and then she went on to tell me I needed to invite the hiring manager who goes by Edward Riddick via Google Hangouts and sent me the code JC19P. I continued to sent the invite to go through their "hiring questionnaire process". Edward told me via hangouts chat about the backstory of the company and the pay/benefits of the position available. He told me I could then ask questions at the very end if I had any. After answering basic questions about why I would be a good fit for the company, he then paused for a few minutes and told me he would get back to me. After a few minutes, he then congratulated me and offered me a level2 position as an administrative office assistant. I said okay thank you, and then told him I finally had a question. He didn't address my statement and proceeded to tell me about the pay and benefits and asked if that was ok. I told him that's fine and all but I wanted to know how my personal information was available to them via text because I searched my job history and i never applied to them via indeed and they did not come up on the search. I waited for 2 minutes and then i sent another statement asking what the hiring process is since they offered me a position without even accepting my initial application or resume. As soon as I pressed sent, the chat let me know that I was blocked and could no longer reply. I called the number that texted me and a man answered and then hung up on me. I kept calling and texted it saying I reported it and to stop scamming people and they disconnected the number. Do not trust this at all. It is 100% fake and a huge waste of time.
