When I the sears washing machine failed to work, I called the phone number that was for Sears when it was purchased about 1997. The phone connected me to an individual who stated I could put the kitchen appliances onto a repair or replace warranty for them if they need repair. Since this was a reputable company when I purchased the item, I trusted that this was a company that took the work after sears went bankrupt. I thought he said $59 a month. Turns out it started as $59 a month for one year. I thought this was expensive and the contract was for a year. I gave it 8 months when I read the contract again, which stated my cooktop was also covered. I contacted them. They sent a fellow out who said it was the controllers for 2 burners which were not working. He ordered 2 parts and left. The parts came to my house. A different fellow came to install the parts but said these would not fit. He spoke with a contact to order different parts but was unsure if they would send different ones. The fellow took the parts with him. About a week later the parts came to my house and I was waiting for someone to install them. I had to call. The second fellow came out and showed me that they were the same parts, except there were 4. These would not work. He stated that they would contact me about a replacement. He left the parts saying they would send me a label for return by email. When I first contracted with them, I gave them my new email. I specifically gave it to them on multiple occasions. No email came until after I spoke with what may have been the sears parts place, where I labelled and returned the parts.

No email came until I made multiple calls to 10 different numbers. When I called, the voice was muffled and each time I was told that that was not their department and to call another number. Then I got an email that I had not returned the parts, which I had. Then the email stated that I had not paid the $75 deductible, which I did on the diagnosis visit. The fellow took a picture of the check I wrote. I still have the check and it was deducted from my account. By this time (2 months) I finally decided that I should not pay them anymore. I did not pay the last payment. Since they did not meet the contract, I believed I was justified. In the contract, there was written that missing a payment would nullify their commitment. Still the delay was obvious that they had no intention of replacing or paying for the cooktop. Just before I stopped payment from my credit card, I was promised a check for $480. to cover a new cooktop. Of course, the check never came, which is when I stopped the last contract payment.
