Ive worked for this company for almost a year. Barely get any student cause the company is just a scam. They are claiming that the student will be the one who will contact you but they are the one sending the tuition. The tuition increases every week and they were saying that they dont earn/get anything from it and they just want to help. One of my student sent them the money and they sent it through my paypal but they made a mistake sending me double amount. I asked them if they can just credit it for the next month tuition since i already paid the paypal charges but they refused. They were asking me to send the money directly to other teacher's bank account which im willing to do but they also filed a claim to paypal so im not happy about it. I tried to talk to them and tell them that they should cancel the claim if they want me to send the money through bank cause i dont want to get scammed and pay double to them but they dont want to cooperate instead they kept sending me email threatening me so i blocked them. Then more emails came from different accounts saying that theyll hire a gangster to hurt me. They even filed a claim again to paypal and was trying to get all the money they sent me from the past way back 2020 and saying that they havent received the service. They dont have lots of information online and they keep collecting teachers photos and informations.

I was looking for a remote job and my friend sent me a link from a job posting for Korean Americans. The website is radiokorea.com and the job post includes how much the pay is and an email as the source of contact. They ask for your photo, which is illegal in the US but is pretty common in job applications in South Korea. I emailed them to request for more information and they asked me to message them on KakaoTalk, which is a free application much like Whatsapp. The red flags started coming when the website barely worked and my computer kept blocking me from entering the website because it said it was not secure. They said that the paying process is directly from customer to tutor, meaning that the company does not handle the deliver of the tutoring fees, which made me wonder how they make profit if they're not taking any commission. The company is allegedly based in Seoul, South Korea and they pay $8.50 per 20 min session if you can tutor and for free talking and $7 per 20 min session for just free talking (basically conservations with the student). The student picks how long they want their session and the student and tutor are the ones figuring out the tutoring schedules. Something just felt off about the whole process, so I looked them up on Naver, which is like Korea's Google and I couldn't find much information about the company besides their own website. They know my full name, email address, and how I look since my Kakao account is my personal account. I went to look for the job posting on Radio Korea, but could not find it even though they are still actively looking for tutors. Something just feels off.
