TX Online Reports & Reviews (1)

I used a Google search while looking to buy stamps online and I clicked one of the top results, not realizing that I was not going to the official United States Postal Service website. I purchased nearly $50 worth of stamps before I noticed some warning signs that made me suspicious about the page. For instance, I did not receive a confirmation email from USPS and then when I checked my PayPal account I saw that the email listed for the merchant was some random Outlook email address and the business name TX Online. Luckily PayPal was able to recover my funds and confirm that the seller was based in China, not the U.S., but I'm still worried they may have gotten some information from me. While there are red flags (that I clearly missed) that the page is not official, I believe the merchant is acting in bad faith and trying to make their site appear to be the official USPS site, even using the logo. I'm not sure if they were trying to capture personal information or get money, or both, but it felt very shady and hopefully by reporting it someone else can be protected from a potential scam.
