US government grants Reports & Reviews (14)

I was told that I would get $100,000 if I paid $1,000. He kept saying I needed $1,000 more for the Fedx truck to deliver it. Next he said the Fedx truck caught on fire I would have to pay another $1,000 for a new Fedx delivery. He said the gift cards I got were no good. I just needed to send another $1,000. He promised if the next card (Nike) didn't go through he would back me up NOT wants more $500

Randy Williams with US GOVERNMENT GRANTS First started with asking for name to see if I qualify and then information to where money is to be delivered. Then a list of choices of money to receive with prices of fees for a 24 hrs delivery response once fee is paid. After all information was received to qualify.

They're supposedly wiring money to me at Walmart. The closest Walmart to me. The Government Grant is in the amount of $9000

My phone rang numerous times with the number 1-275-213-4365 and “Name Unavailable” showing on the caller ID. Having become tired of the incessant calls from this number, I answered and was greeted by someone with a very thick accent telling me I have been granted $9,700 free money from the “government”. I told him I knew this was a scam call and he hung up. Within 15 minutes I received another call from this number with another person who had, shall I say, less of an accent. Long story short he wanted to assure me that the call was not a scam and would I like the money sent to my checking account, debit card or Western Union. Playing along I said WU. He gave me a “WU” number and I was to call 1-518-768-1678 to further register to receive the funds. Instead of calling the number I researched online and found that this is definitely a scam. People there is no free lunch!!!!!

They keep calling my 17 year old son stating he won a grant I told them to stop calling and they still keep calling him.

Saying I was selected to receive a grant if I pay a fee

Informing me I have been selected for a $9,000 grant because I've got no arrest record and no record of bankruptcy. Called twice. I had fun with the second caller, just playing along...boy did he get abusive when he realized my ruse!

Say that I'm eligible for $9000 grant. Don't answer questions and I wanted to report this scam

Call to my cell phone. Says I can get $9,000.00 if I send them $500.00 .. The trouble is they wont quit calling my cell phone. Can I stop this in any way? They have called several times

They knew my name and wanted to give me grants from the Government. But they were clearly from another country. I said no thank you and hung up. They called me back over 15 times. I finally left the phone off the hook.

I keep receiving calls from fake caller ID's all with New York area codes. This is the third call I have gotten this week, that I actually answered. I could tell from the noise in the background that the call was being placed from some type of call center. The guy on the phone had a heavy Indian accent. He stated that he was calling from the US Government Grants department & that I had been selected to receive a free grant in the amount of $8,000.00 that I would never have to repay. He said I was chosen because I had paid my taxes & bills in a timely manner, never filed bankruptcy (which I did back in 2011) and had no criminal history in the last 6 months. I let him talk until he got to the point that I had 2 options to get the money, one was via CASH and the other was in the form of a prepaid debit card. I knew then for sure that my suspicions were correct. I informed the caller that the government NEVER contacts people by phone, and they NEVER issue a payment to someone in the form of Cash or debit card. When I asked why was a check not a valid option, he stated that they had had problems before with the amount not coming out correctly. I really didn't have the patience to see how far this scammer was going to go so I ended the call by saying that I knew this was a fraudulent call & that I had recorded the conversation & would report them to the authorities. I asked to have my name & number removed from their call list.

The most frustrating part of this is that the numbers they appear to call from are all FAKE. This same number showed up on my phone the previous day as a call from EGYPT, my caller ID showed the number as +20 2 154 1845. Today when they called it showed up as (202) 154-1845. I have also received calls from (212) 777-6786 & (646) 813-1855.

I was told that I have an 8,500 Grant and how would I want to receive the money either money gram or debit card.and I was told if anyone else tries to call to don't give out any information. And after they got me for the 20 dollars they said that I had to go to a federal reserve bank to pay a 200 dollar wiring fee becouse my government wouldn't allow the grant money to be sent through money gram now if I would have told them I want it to my bank card they would have had my account information and money.I'm still getting call from the same person to see if I came up with the 200 dollars but this time the woman Nancy Anderson she said her name was gave me another number to also contact her on.

- Staunton, IL, USA

The company called me and said I was qualified for a grant but wanted me to pay money as a registration fee
