Vacation Quarters Reports & Reviews (2)

On December 7, 2021 a Lease Offer was signed with Vacation Quarters (based in Minnesota) for the lease of one-week of a 4-bedroom unit at the VIDANTA Estates in Jalisco, Mexico. Colorado Funding (base in Denver, CO) was the designated escrow agent for this transaction. On December 13, 2021 and Agreement for Guarantee of Rental was also signed. The Offer and Agreement stipulated an agreed upon rental amount of $62,552.00. The lease agreement stipulated a 10% commission ($6,255.20) was to be paid at the time of closing. No other payment advances are stipulated in the agreement. Over the period of December 23, 2021 to April 21, 2022 we have transmitted $50,023.72 in funds for this transaction at the direction of Colorado Funding with no dispersement of funds in accordance with the signed agreements. On May 4, 2022, Vacation Quarters and Colorado Funding demanded payment of an additional $28,700.00 for an Amparo to provide us with “legal protection” in Mexico. To date we have not paid this additional amount given the unfulfilled commitments that have occurred in this transaction to date. No funds have been dispersed by either Vacation Quarters or Colorado Funding and the matter remains open. We recently discovered a cease and desist order was issued on April 27, 2022 against Vacation Quarters by the Minnesota Department of Commerce for engaging in fraud and misrepresentation in connection with brokering timeshare and real estate. The facts represented in this cease and desist order are similar to those we experienced with Vacation Quarters.

I got a weird call a few weeks ago from a man in Massachusetts, calling to confirm my identity. Basically, he'd been contacted by a woman claiming to be me, offering to help him sell a timeshare in Mexico. He was suspicious, so asked her to send info to verify her identity. Apparently she spoke in broken English, so he looked me up online, then called me when he found my info. Obviously I have no connection with this company. I will forward the email he send to me, showing how the company was using my info.

Today, I received another, similar call from a man in AZ who said he'd been contacted by the same person for the same reason. He dug further into it, and talked to someone at the Secretary of State, going so far as to look at the business filing for this company, Vacation Quarters, LLC. When I looked it up, your name is also listed as being a registered agent for this company--both of our names and our RE lic numbers are listed in the filing. When I talked to the woman at the SoS office, she said that info cannot be altered except by the person who filed it. I then called the Dept of Commerce, who said the best thing to do would be to file a consumer complaint on the website, and they will then investigate the matter.
