Yahoo Mail Name Spoofing Reports & Reviews (1)

Received an unsolicited spam phishing email supposedly for Yahoo Mail, email address: [email protected]. The email stated that, access to e-mail will soon exceed its limit, (sentence ended with a comma.) The email went on to state, Yahoo recommend that you upgrade and verify your account to avoid DE-Activation within 48 hours. Finally I was instructed to Please open the attachment for your account update and verification, Sincere Yahoo Inc. It is probably safe to say that this email did not originate from within the US because the grammar and sentence structure is poor with misspelled words like DE-Activation and Sincere. The email was not addressed to me personally, rather it simply said Dear User. Lastly, until this email, I never would've known that there was a limit on accessing my email account (sarcasm.) I never open attachments or click on links within unsolicited spam/ phishing emails. The attachment within the email could have contained malicious viruses to infect my computer, lead to a fake site that request personal information or both. Just wanted to warn everyone that a fake Yail Mail phishing email is making it rounds.
