I made a call at the number provided. 888-508-7081. Spoke with Jeff Carter first then Steve Brown. They offered a "loan modification" plan with a decreased mortgage payment amount for 3 months. Lowering my interest rate as well. If I kept plan for Mar, Apr, and May, then my mortgage payment would become permanent till end of loan. I explained I could not make this type of decision without speaking to my spouse. They allowed me 1 day to make decision to resolve as everyday the amount would increase due to "the rates"?? They gave me specific number to call and claimed to be from the payment dept.
I immediately made call to my Mortgage company who had just transferred our account to a new servicing company. They went through series of questions for verification not to mention needing my spouse's Ok to speak to me. They informed us account had transferred to new servicing company. Verified they did not send text or make call to me with "loan modification " offer.
The following day I received a call from 888-508-7081 phone number. Guy with accent claimed to be Steve Brown from my mortgage company wanted to know if we had made decision. Told him we had and then confronted him with my findings. He immediately terminated the call. I called back and this time different male person answered. He went on to state he could not understand spanish even though I was clearly speaking english. I terminated call.
