I received a call from a Chicago Heights number 708-506-5334. The caller claimed to work for Allstate and wanted to help me get a better rate on my home and auto insurance. By the accent (Indian) and the cold-call, I could tell this was a phishing scheme/scam. He asked me how my day was going and I said "Great!" He then asked how many cars I had. I said, "I have 11 cars, but I only drive 7 and a half of them. The other 3 and a half are for show purposes. One of them I only drive a half because my job is a hybrid." The caller repeated that information back to me for confirmation. I was asked what insurance I had and told them "Geiko". He said he was going to transfer me to an agent that could help me get better rates.

A woman came on the line immediately (zero delay or ringing) and in a cheery voice (Asian/Pacific Islander accent, possibly Filipino) asked me how my day was going. I said "Great! How is yours going? How is the weather there?" There was a pause in her reply--she was not prepared for me to ask her questions, especially pertaining to her location--but she tried to play along and said the weather was nice. She then asked for confirmation that I had 11 cars, 7.5 that I drive, and Geiko insurance. I confirmed. She then asked me for my name. I said, "You already have my name," and then did a seamless role-reversal and asked her if I could have her name. After a pause she said "Faith". I asked for her last name--"Miller" I spelled it out--"M-I-L-L-E-R...got it. And what's the address?"-- at this point there was a beep followed by silence (mute button). I said, "Faith? Faith...? I think I lost you Faith....I hope we can reconnect later, I'd really like to get you a better rate if you are still interested." I then hung up the phone.

I looked up Faith Miller--she does work for Allstate in Northbrook, but she was definitely not associated with these clowns.
