The woman said that they filed this in our county court and if she didn't pay now, that the amount she would have to pay in court would be over $5,000.00. Asked her to reply to them with payment. I asked my wife to ask her for a detailed invoice, dates , breakdown of charges, etc..
The invoice they emailed only had a total amount , not the detail we requested. It looked legitimate and did have other information. I did a little research and decided they were fraudulent and trying to scam her. Fake physical address, confirmed with business in same building and spoke with local chamber of commerce. Found a website which makes them look legit. Called our courthouse, nothing filed.
So many red flags. I also filed a report with Federal Trade Commission.
