Received two initial text messages about verifying my identity to proceed with opening an account with US Bank. I had a suspicion they were a scam and deleted them. I then received a letter in the mail saying they were unable to establish an account due not being able to verify identification information on the application.

Someone called and said they were with U.S. Bank. They took the last four digits of my social security number, my name, and my location.

Received a call reporting 'Spam' and a voice message from 'Dorothy' stating she's with Cobalt Credit Union Authentication Services needing to discuss an important matter regarding my account. Requested I immediately call back to 866-268-7231 with verification reference **************** between Mon-Fri, 7am-9pm Central Time and any rep can assist me. I called my actual bank to confirm if they contacted me (they did not) and confirm the status of my accounts. Once everything was checked and confirmed clear the rep crafted a communication to the vice president to report this information.

Wrote me a letter from US Bank, box6361 Fargo N.D 58125-6361 saying someone was applying to open account with my name and personal information, asking me to call 8662687231 tp verify my information. I did not reply.
