My wife received a letter on December 9 from a vague source presenting a document calling itself the "FINAL NOTICE RE: Home warranty for mortgage maintenance requirements." The letter went on to say that our property's home warranty secured by COLONY MTG, may be expiring or may have already expired. The truth is we paid off our mortgage 15-20 years ago. Such a fabricated document angers me tremendously because of its attempt to take advantage of elderly people. The persons behind such a scam need to be discovered, indicted, prosecuted, and convicted.

Pretending to be wells fargo bk home warranty dept. Wanted my father to tespond to their mailing to get his hone warranty up to date with them. Problem is his hime wiuld have no warranty as he has owned it for all my life. And he hasnt banked with that bank in years. They have too much info on him to be able to pretend to be a bank he banked with in the past.

I kept getting several weekly of the pink Paper home warranty expirations with final notice in bold capital letters. I called several times to stop them and told them i already had a home warranty for several years. This is when the woman who called herself Lisa @ ext 702 told me my mortgage company REQUIRED me to have one and the one i was currently using was no longer acceptable because their rating had gone down. I should have looked into this 1st, but very convincing in me thinking i was getting this GREAT service. So i gave her my account info and 100.00 was taken out that day for "service start up fee". Then i called my mortage company and verified the home warranty information and was told it was NOT REQUIRED! Then i googled info on my current warranty only to see they were ranked 3rd best. I was given a different company for warranty when i signed up called omega home care. So, the company that sent me the letter was a 3rd party company. Another Red flag. I didn't find this out until after the transaction of 100.00 was made. After finding all this information out on 8/3/23 I called to cancel their services and get a refund. The guy that i got was SO belligerent he was actually yelling at me because I wouldn't listen to him bad mouth my present home warranty company and that i wanted to cancel. He finally said oh dont worry I'm removing your name and number so you cant EVER do business with us again. Good i said, no more pink papers every other day! I tried to get the company name and was told it was Home Protection advisors but the company name that took the 100.00 out of my checking account was US Home Protection. I did get a reference # on the 1st call for the 100.00 # 3488979118, which I now have a feeling means nothing, but when i canceled it that rep a guy after being so belligerent told me it would be returned 7-14 business days and as of this date 8/23 it still had not been refunded and he refused to give me a reference # for the cancelation. They sold me a home warranty from a company I never heard of called Omega home care. Just so happened the repair man from my present warranty company was here fixing my dishwasher and I asked him about omega home care and he has been in the repair business for 30 years and never heard of them either. They are pushy, liars and Belligerent and I hope no one else finally caves to their trap just to get them off your back
