When applying for health insurance and speaking with a "Marketplace representative". AND giving my entire SS number and after applying and supposedly "confirming" my insurance, although "she said the computer was frozen" so to take "her word for it". She said to contact this number to confirm my enrollment.... 888-397-3747. When I called I was told I won a trip for 2 and when indicating I did not want the trip by hitting number 2 on my phone, I was told I won a 100$ gift certificate to a large chain store and would only need to pay shipping and handling! THIS ALL FROM "THE GOVERNMENT HEALTHCARE WEB SITE..." YES I AM YELLING.

I called the Government number back and asked to speak to a manger. She told me that the only number in their system for Unity Health Insurance was 800-362-3310.

This means 1 of only 2 possibilities are happening.

1. The scam number is randomly generating this fishing number in the government system, unknown by the agency.

2. Agents working within Healthcare.gov and the Marketplace are being paid to scam unsuspecting taxpayers by telling them they need to call the number that takes them unwittingly down this "rat hole".

Why wouldn't you expect this number to be legitimate since it is being given to you by the U.S. Government????
