Type of a scam Employment
This morning at 10:42a I received an email from the above address advising me of my first paycheck that was going to be delivered and there were some instructions on what to do. I ignored it & forgot it. Later today, when I checked the mail, there was a Priority Mail envelope in my box. I pulled out the letter (not typed on letter head) that explained my first assignment. It told me that the check attached would cover me keeping $350 as my payment & using the rest to purchase EBAY gift cards only in the amount of $200 each. The "paycheck" seems to be a money order written in font I would not believe to be on a money order, from the WSFS Bank in the amount of $2,360.30. I immediately emailed the person back & called them from my google account and I have yet to receive a response. This is too close to home & I am freaked out.

I later filled up the form and "Paul" started to text message me on 11/27 saying that he sent me an email acknowledging my application. I didn't receive the email until Thursday 11/29 and I responded back as the email requested.
This was the detail on that email:
You recently submitted your information to one of our recruitment agencies via a referral from Linked-In to work as a secret shopper in the ongoing CHAIN-STORE-SURVEY PROGRAM. Your details have been verified and you are shortlisted as one of our representatives. Here is your unique I.D number MS7353, your details have been stored in our database.
As a research shopper visiting stores and making specific purchases, you will secretly evaluate things like customer service, store cleanliness and quality of service rendered. You would have to keep a comprehensive report on every activity you carry out.
Some of the simple questions in your shopper's report will be:
• Were the employees friendly courteous?
• Did you receive prompt service?
• Was the merchandise displayed neatly?
• Would you return to this store / restaurant?
• Was it easy to use the service?
The answers to these kinds of questions are extremely valuable to any business - and they are willing to pay top dollar to find out what consumers really think. You will be providing important information that will be used to improve the quality of businesses everywhere.
Where will I be shopping?
The companies we deal with mostly represent large chain stores and popular franchises with hundreds and thousands of locations across the United States.

Paul then texted me on Monday 12/3 asking whether I have been getting their messages. They were expecting my feedback after delivery of the assignment parcel. He confirmed via USPS that the assignment letter and paycheck was delivered to my address. He asked me to provide update about the USPS parcel I received. I asked for tracking number and he gave it to me informing me that the parcel was delivered on Saturday at 8 p.m.
Paul decided to send out another package without notifying me but this time it is from different sender, state and bank. I think all of the information are made up. Based on both tracking numbers, it looks like it was mailed from Castro Valley, CA or somewhere in CA.
Paul sent me an email this morning and below is the content of the email:
How are you doing? I am expecting your response, have you deposited the check? the money should be available for you immediately or overnight so you can carry out your assignment.please give me an update asap!
Kind Regards,
Paul Phillips

The package was shipped via 2 days with a check of $2360.30 along with instructions to purchase $200 x 10 Ebay gift cards, then scratch off the label to reveal code at the back of the cards and capture clear image of the front and back of each card and email back to them.
