Reached out to company about a short term rental apartment after finding their well-organized website. Did a considerable amount of background research about the company, including finding parent companies and testimonials, all of which seemed reliable. Email responses from the company were very timely, even after money was transferred, up until a few days before first day of rental. Then email responses ceased and the company blocked my phone number. Turns out they have been renting the apartment to several different people and are not actually affiliated with the apartment building. Deeper investigation found that the testimonials had been copied from various non-affiliated rental websites.
